Alan I hear you about one cigarette getting you hooked again, all too true in the old days, but I think vaping has changed everything. I don't know if its good for Mat to hear this, but I still have the occasional rolly. My plan when I took up vaping was to have about 3 cigs a day (instead of 15), but in fact its never more than one/day. Had one tonight after 5 days without. Enjoyed it, but no great craving for another. Maybe if you still crave smoke, you need to work on what you are vaping. btw Steve, I also used to go outside for a smoke & de-stress - now I go out for a vape & de-stress. Works for me

Once I had that urge, had a very stressful situation, when I got in the car, my mind automatically thought 'reach for ciggie' penny dropped that I no longer used nasties, so I picked up my ecig and thought it wouldn't be enough but happy to say it was and I soon forgot about the old ways

At least once a week I think about having one( if not more often). Pick up my ecig and I soon forget about it.
My battery stopped working a work and I pinched a cig from someone, could only smoke half but it satisfied me until hometime.
fI something bad happened and I didnt have a working ecig I would have a cig knowing that I could pick up my ecig when possible and wouldn't be hooked on cigs again forever.

I am an OAP now and whilst I don't know when I first started smoking, I do know I was hooked and smoking about 10 or more a day by the time I started work at 16. Over the past 20 years or so I have "stopped" smoking many times, using everything from Acapuncture to Patches, Nicorette Chewgum to Champix. All of these worked well until I had finished the courses and then, a few months down the road, something would happen and I would lift a fag again. No big deal, but I would invariably end up smoking more than I did before I stopped. My last "stopped period" was for 18 months. Within a month of going back on, I was getting through 45 superkings a day. Okay, I have now been 100% vaping for a good few weeks now, but I aint going to kid myself on here. Perhaps when I have been vaping only for about 2 years, I will begin to think that maybe, this time, I have found a real alternative to smoking. Giving up the smoking habit is one thing. Staying away from tobacco in all future circumstances is something else again. Tobacco is a very powerful drug and for all the people that stop smoking, 9 out of 10 go back onto it within 2 years. If Vaping, for me, really is an alternative to smoking, then I will see out my days vaping. I certainly have no intention of using vaping as a way to stop nicotine. I am enjoying it too much to want to quit this marvelous pastime.
