I'd say go for the top first as provari's seem very available.

if you have the pennies for both then go ahead and get a provari.. the Penelope is a tad more difficult to get your mits on
HOWEVER the Proteus which is to be the device to pair with the Penelope is due out sometime in the next couple of months and that is to be variable voltage and should look the bizz holding on to the Penelopes skirt tails

Thanks for the replies guys, I have the pennies for neither its just that I don't want to waste more money than I need to buying more products than neccesary (£200 in within 3 weeks). It's all about the learning curve with vaping and I now believe I should go for top dog and be done with it. I will have to scrimp and save but feel this will be the cheapest option in the long run. So my option should be get a penelope and wait for the proteus?

I believe that the top part is the most important. If i have to choose one, i would go to the top first.

I would of course say, go for the bottom part first if it's a Provari as whatever you use on it will work, very well.
Getting hold of a Penelope now, might not be quite so easy . . . . the Proteus although I'm sure will be a lovely Mod, is only going to be a 14500 device and obtaining one might not be so easy either.

I would also say go for the bottom first, there are many good tops about until you get the funds for something of your choice Also, most will agree that the Provari is a fantastic bit of kit, where as, the views on the best atty's tend to be more mixed, depending on preferences of draw, taste, size, ease of use etc

Get the bottom first ant.................... the provari is fabulous and will last you almost forever Only outlay after you've got one is the batteries As for the top........... do you want a ready made or a build yourself? The penelope is fabulous, it will save you money, its been said on here many, many times that its pennies for wick and wires, all you'd really have to worry about is buying juice, BUT Penelope is very much in demand, difficult to get hold of, if you want one its best keeping an eye on GG UK for when Cam gets the next ones in and pressing that buy button If you dont want to go down that route or wait then I'm sure that people will recommend something that is easier to get hold of. My choice for when I'm not using my Penelope (which isnt that often as she's usually on either Provari or the LT lol) is a Vivi

Another vote here for bottom first. Penelopes are brilliant, I love mine. But - as has already been said - you can put anything on top of a Provari and it will give you a perfect vape every time.

Me personally since buying the Provari, my world has changed no messing it's built just like a maglite torch honestly if you ever owned one they are very well made, i just use the vivi nova's on mine, but in honesty I think going forward once I learn to build the atty's the Penelope might well be my next step for me it's top! should read bottom oops! ninja edit ;-)

As a new owner of a Provari I would say go for the bottom first, it will improve your Vape with your existing equipment, mine has. Penelope's are rarer than Hens Teeth at the moment or extremely over priced.

Even though I don't yet have the bottom (the provari) I would vote for the provari, especially if you're new to rebuilables. If you make a coil with a short and put it on an ego or a riva, there's a good chance you will bugger up the battery as I did. With a provari it's protected and will tell you if there is a problem without damaging it
