Thanks again for your help. Ok, so if I stick with my original plan of ordering the extra 5 cartos and a selection of liquids along with the skycig, then i should have enough to last maybe a month or so...? How do you know when the carto needs replacing, is it obvious as you vape it? I'm about to order the skycig now, the sooner the better! Also, this may sound really stupid, but do all of the liquids have nicotine in them, even the flavoured ones? Cambo, the question about how long things will last is a very difficult one to answer, as already mentioned by others. A carto will let you know when it's giving up the ghost... the vape will go 'wimpy' and it will be harder to draw through. Very few (if any) actually pop like a light bulb. As far as juice is concerned, it obviously depends how much you vape. BUT - the claims made by Skycig and other look-alikes about their cartos equalling 20, 30, 40 fags are bogus. A carto equals something like 6 fags. Most people average around 3ml of juice per day so if you bought, say, 5x5ml samples that should last you just over a week. Some folks get away with vaping less than this, some use musch more but either way it's a hell of a lot cheaper than the equivalent in tobacco.

Hi guys, been away to Ireland visiting rellys, but got back and picked up my Skycig today, have just charged it up and am ready to chuck the fags in the bin! Wish me luck. And thanks again for all your advice.

Well Cambo, I at the time of giving the Skycig link to someone decided to pop one in the basket as well, I tried it out and it's not to bad, as the battery is lickle I would need to up my nic strength to get a better vape like the Ego/Riva gives but beside that it is ok, handy having two batteries and the carto's don't taste to bad, other than a weak watery flavour. Let us know what you think

Agree sandra, wouldn't pay the full price for it or buy their cartos but if you get it on offer it's quite a handy wee thing

Hi guys Well so far, considering I only got it last night, I reckon i'm doing ok, by now i've usually smoked about 5 cigarettes, but this morning i've only had 1, and as I can 'smoke' my skycig in my office (my boss is all for helping me quit) it's working quite well. I must say though, i've already used one of the 'sample' cartos - they weren't joking about it being a sample eh, it lasted about 20 puffs! I've now got to find a liquid to re-fill them with, as i've been told this is the most cost effective method of keeping it up, so i'm going to look for some of that now. I think the skycig is excellent as a first dip into the world of vaping, especially if like me your aim is to give up completely, it's not quite the same as smoking a cigarette, but it's close enough to do the job, and the extra battery and charging pack it comes with in the starter kit are really handy. All in all i'd say it's a steal at £15 all in.

Hi Cambo That's great that you're starting to cut down the smokes and even better that you can Vape in your office. Just because a lot of us on here like shiney expensive gadgets, doesn't mean there's anything wrong with sky-cigs or those types of things. I managed to quit smoking completely on nicolites at first and that's a miracle in my eyes. I still carry around and occasionally use my nicolites. You're doing really well

Yes, As everyone says E-cigs are best option to give up tobacco which is more effective than other products like nicotine gum or patches. The reason is, other products try to get you away from your smoking habit to give up tobacco where E-cigarettes doesn't need to give up your smoking habit, hence you give up tobacco.

Hi Guys, I'm doing ok at the mo, I’ve not had a cigarette in 4 days now, and not really feeling the need to either. I even stood outside with my partner while he had one last night (he only smokes maybe 2 cigs a week - never seen the point myself!) and didn't give in to the temptation to have one too, so I’m feeling quite proud of myself haha. I just made a mistake though; I bought some nicolite refills the other day thinking they would fit the skycig, but they didn't work for some reason, despite the threads being the same (I suspect skycig have done that on purpose so you have to buy their refills) so I decided I’d just take them apart and swap the nicotine soaked wadding over into the skycig cartos, but they won’t work now. I try and pull on them and although the skycig is lighting up at the end, nothing is coming through except the actual liquid. Doh! 2 ruined cartos. Oh well, we live and learn! Anyone know why they wouldn't work in the first instance? They screw on fine, but then nothing comes through, and I was under the impression that all 510 were interchangeable, or is this not right?

Mmm that's odd isn't it? The 510 boges that chrissie linked to above definitely fit both the skycig and nicolites, so i would have thought that the nicolites carto would have fitted the skycig
