Heartbreaking wasn't it. At least the wee scrap got to experience some real care and devotion in her little life.

She was so sweet, such a gorgeous little face. To think that some evil person could just dump a sick helpless puppy in a park like a discarded bit of rubbish is beyond belief. I'd give anything to get my hands on the culprit. >

So glad that chihuahua got a second chance - I felt an overwhelming urge to take her 'owner' down a dark alley and 'explain' dog ownership to her. Two years old and not even socialised with other dogs, unbelievable!
Don't get me wrong, I'm not perfect as a dog owner, but I would not give up a dog (potentially to be put down) because of a problem that I had caused - I'd get a behaviourist in.

You have to wonder why Fan, that people get a dog, or any pet for that matter, if they're not prepared to see to it's perfectly reasonably doggy/kitty ( etc ) needs. It beats me completely.

Beats me too Perps, it just makes me so angry on behalf of the dog, she 'loved him so much' but couldn't be bothered to sort out his problems.
So much easier to just get rid grrrrrr.
ETA doesn't bode well for any kids that she'll have, does it?

Just starting this weeks episode and already shaking with anger at the chiauas so called owner. She pampered him, caused his problems and then gave him up knowing full well he could be killed instead of taking training or behaviour advice. And then she dares call herself devestated how the hell does she think the poor dog feels??!!

I just got around to watching it after coming home from a meeting where someone told me she had given her puppy to the RSPCA because she couldn't handle it destroying her "leather sofa" etc anymore. I wish I had been in a position to tell her what I really thought of that....
Dexter was such a scruffy little mess, I'm glad to see he got a home too

Some people are such idiots. Still, i have to say as angry as i was at the owner i admired her for taking the dog to the shelter and not just abandoning it somewhere as so many people do. I pity her lack of knowledge though as maybe if she'd have known about behaviourists etc she could have had a different ending. The dog was difficult but obviously could be brought round and maybe if she'd had help and knowledge the story could have been different. For all her faults she obviously did love the dog. this is why I believe the dog license should be brought back in and people should have to do a course and then a test to teach them what they need to know.

Last in the series now from Paul O'Grady, then at 9pm on BBC2, a documentary I'm assuming . . . ' Walking with Dogs '.
