I checked the GG Penelope wiki and it's not on there. I sent him a PM too but I guess he must be very busy.

I'm sure you dedicated Penny owners wouldn't mind filing down M3 nuts to fit It would be nice if the precise spec could be got from Imeo though. I'm going with the, don't drop it down the sink option well done Jay

Since reading what happened to poor esme, I've been so careful cleaning mine. I have the plug in, use a big plastic bowl and a smaller one inside the big one lol! I've dropped that same nut about 3 or 4 times on the floor too. It's a slippery little bugger

Mine came with that nut already fixed onto the spindle/pin, and once fitted there is no need for it to ever come off again, unless you are fitting a new ceramic, so they shouldn't be falling off all over the shop?

Why are people removing this nut ??? the whole thing can be cleaned whilst fully assembled Just remove the bottom o-ring and flush with hot water, That ceramic only needs removing once every 3-4months for a full clean and even then ONLY if needed Remember that over time the ceramic will become more brittle as it's constantly heated and will become easier to crumble if disturbed.

For some reason blakey it came loose when I was rinsing it, so I put the ceramic still in the holder to one side, meaning to tighten it all up again. Then as I picked it up it dropped off, bounced and went down the sink. Dont ask me how.......... it just did!! ??? ???

For some reason blakey it came loose when I was rinsing it, I have found that the action of unscrewing the ceramic holder from the base can also unscrew the centre post from that little nut, so bowls within bowls for me too

I fill up a plastic jug with hot water and wash everything out in there, but as Blakey says, I no longer disassemble that stuff when I make a new coil

Chances are it is still in the u-bend - just a simple matter of taking it off and fishing it out. The exercise will give you a special memory of the event such that you will probably never lose anything down the sink again .
