Some bad news this week,Hi Tech (named by security) our college cat passed away,a real character, she had a fear of peoples feet so we always presumed she was a stray that had been mis-treated,like all cats that find a home, she found hers at work and although not your pick up and stroke cat, more a touch me for to long and your gonna fee my claws sort of character, she was always treated well by both staff and students, there were only a few of us who could pick her up and I think in her entire time she only ever once slept on my lap.Students and staff twice raised incredible amounts of money to save her from the tumors that effected her head area, the last one proved too much. A few students will return from the summer break and will be upset she is no longer with us,I will miss my daily routine of walking her round the college grounds. Hi Tech

We tend to forget that when animals like this turn up in our everyday lives how much of an impact they can make, and what strong characters and personality traits they can bring with them. They are always the ones we talk about, and are always the ones we often take for granted that they'll always be there. We also miss them the most. At least she was cared for and looked after

Sad sad news. But very good on you for looking after it. We have a cat at work that we have adopted under similar circumstances. He has his own twitter account.

Yep, every time one of my mousers croaks it, I'm a bit choked. Then I think of the cat-shaped hole in my life and I seek out another one. Actually, half the time the replacement cat just turns up, sooner or later. I've had moggies for more than three decades now and every one's been a character.

I've had four cats adopt me to various degrees in the last 15 years or so, I think they just see me as a sucker I feel your pain.
