Paralympics - Closing Ceremony

Who's going to be watching the closing ceremony?

What a brilliant event the Paralympics have been. I've not been able to watch many live, but seeing the highlights makes the chest pound. Listening to some interviews earlier, the participants don't want to be regarded as 'brave and courageous' but purely as 'athletes'. Whilst I accept their point of view, as a fortunate able bodied person, I cannot think of them as anything other than 'special'.

To overcome whatever they've had to battle, and represent their country (whichever country) in these games, and compete at the highest level, has got to be really, really 'special'.

Just watching an interview with Ellie Simmonds, the swimmer, and I'm in tears of pride for her already.

Although the sacrifices any top athlete make is a credit to them. Well done every one of them. I know i couldnt do it..

We are having the closing parade on live feed on all the time tomorrow at school, we managed to get some tickets for the Paralympics that we gave to the children, they had such a fantastic time , I didn't get to go sadly, but in our school it will be remembered from the moment they saw the Olympic torch run past our school to the parade tomorrow #icon_welldone# #icon_bravo# #icon_thumbsup#

What i meant was if you were really moved by these Paralympic games I think it's because your a special type of person.

Did any of you watch "The Best of Men" drama on BBC? It was brilliant - showed how much attitudes have changed, thank goodness.

Whoa there big boy people seem to be a bit touchy atm.

It could have been interpreted as you saying something like you didn't think much of the paralympic games, for whatever reason. I did wonder myself what you meant exactly.


At least we seem to have got to the end of the games without any giant nuclear problems predicted by certain folk. Thank goodness.

I thought the paralympics was actually better than the normal olympics the actual competition, as for the closing ceremony, very random very Coldplay who I actually like, i thought the Rihanna and JZ bit was awful, I am glad it's over now and hopefully London can return to normal and i can enjoy the roads again haha!
