Vivi Nova burnt taste

I've never bothered dry burning a head before on these and they've been fine, but I had one I've used a few times and I thought it was time it was done. It's been cleaned in hot water a few times, then dried fully.

So I dry burnt it, now all I get is a very burnt taste from it, I presume I must have burnt the wick somehow, which I didn't think you could do with silica wicks?
I did take the silicone ring off before I did it, so it's not that.

Im looking at rewicking mine, have have the version 2.5 Vivi Nova do you know what i would need for this?

I think on some of the Nova's there's a fiberglass tube just under the coil that helps keep the coil wires apart to stop them shorting, this can get burnt, perhsps it's that I know when you recoil them you can ditch this little piece and it does not affect the vape, you just need to be a bit more careful the coil wires don't short out.

Ive had this before, but if rewicking just chuck that bit in the bin and it should be fine

Just make sure when redoing them once you have put the new coil in keep a grip on the legs so they are not loose inside as they could touch the sides

I have been getting the wick and wire from vapour hut
I find the .15 wire better and do four turns for the vivi nova

I posted this somewhere, but maybe it got lost.....

IMHO The concept and general idea of the Nova is good, but it falls down on coil and wick design and quality.

If you want to get the best flavour and vapour out of the Nova, you have to rebuild it, but well worth the effort!

I use long (full length) cotton wicks 2mm, you can obtain first class cotton wick material from the link below. It is very cheap 10mtrs @ £1.05 postage free.

I also use 0.212 Nic Chrome or 0.20 Kanthal A…. coiled lose at 5/6 wraps, both are available from here. www.wires.co.uk/acatalog/e-cig_iatty_atomizer_wire.html#aKLA_2d0200_2d010

The difference after a rebuild is like night and day…. Flavours pop out, and the quantity of vapour is better and thicker, you also use less voltage as the coils ohm out at about 1.9

You have to remember that you can’t dry burn with cotton, so keep the coil wet. Wet the top of the coil with a couple of drops of juice on first build and then fill the tank, let it sit for a min or two to ensure wicking is soaked, then vape away.

No problem..... Have Fun, they work well when rewicked and new coil... work out very cheap to rebuild aswell at a few pence a go.

The wick I referenced above is first class, undyed, unbleached, uncoated, pure cotton, no need to pre wash just use it.

Here you go Vapo in Romania has them, me and a few others here have bought stuff from here, arrives in a week and they have very good prices VAPO

2m wick and wire plus some mesh thrown in for under 3 euros.

And they take credit cards.

I think you can still buy the wick from that seller on ebay with credit/debit card.... Paypal is just one way to pay.

Candlewick must be boiled before use though as quoted in RockinRobbie's vid.
