On Tuesday, on a whim I decided to stop vaping. It did not end well. Made it until about 6pm, but was climbing the walls with cravings, really ratty etc. So Wednesday onwards I went back to my regular 4mg juice.
Yesterday my nic free juice arrived, and today I was testing it out. Id completely forgotten it was nic free and have been vaping it all day. No cravings. Nothing. Nada.
I can only conclude that I'm more psychologicaly addicted to nicotine than physically addicted.
Of course, now Ive realised I've been vaping nic free, I'm starting with the cravings...

That is really interesting Jody I also think that some of the addiction with smoking is the hand to mouth & comforting feeling of inhaling & that's why e-cigs help so much were NRT (Nicotine Replacement Therapy) doesn't.

I'm psychologically addicted to physical aspect of smoking/vaping, the draw, inhale & long exhale . I use low & med strength. How is the zero nic for vapourN flavour & throat hit?

I'm using the nic free version of the juice that's become my everyday juice - Pixie Juice Black Ice, which is a mix of menthol and aniseed. As its menthol it's got a bit of a throat hit anyway, I've not noticed this decrease in the nic free version. In fact the only difference I've noticed is that the nic free seems to taste a little bit sweeter than the 4mg, but could be imagining that tbh. I suspect if I was going from a higher starting point (say a 12mg liquid) then there would be more physical symptoms of withdrawal, but I am wondering how much withdrawal is actually in the mind?

seeing as the nicoteine would have been out of your system, i conclude that it must be psychological, ie it's the habit of vaping that you were craving, no scientist's were used in this reply

Taste is also a big part of it for me. If I haven't got the right flavour, then the strength and throat hit don't matter: I'm still going to be chain vaping without much satisfaction. Unfortunately, I never know what the 'right' flavour will be from day to day (or even hour to hour) so I've normally got four or five on the go at once. Tonight, it's smokey hickory, black cherry, caramel cappucino, rootbeer and liquid amber, none of which are working > Time to dig out the crab juice.

Aye, could well be, I've often thought the symptoms of fag addictiveness were psychological.
My hand to mouth and drawing "smoke" definitely are, the nicotine, I'm not sure, in some people yes, I'm sure it is. I tried no nic and it didn't work out well, but maybe that's because I was on 15mg.

4mg is still an awful lot and the body will miss it, then ofc its 4 mg per ml so its a question of how many ml you are vaping a day. Consider that the lowest concentration of nicotine in a patch available is 4mg over 24 hours and its quite a difference. When i gave up smoking for 2 years after using patches i was cutting them in half and half again so i weened off really slowly. All downhill after that, just had to find something to do with my hands. I usually just beat the kids

When i gave up smoking for 2 years after using patches i was cutting them in half and half again so i weened off really slowly. All downhill after that, just had to find something to do with my hands. I usually just beat the kids I was vaping between 0.5 - 1ml per day of 4mg, occasionally using some 2mg, but I prefered the flavour of th 4mg, so used that most often. I'm using much, much more of the 0mg, prob about 1.5- 2ml per day. I don't seem to be vaping more though, I think I'm just topping up more, perhaps because its seems like something is missing, which of course it is? Or maybe I'm drawing deeper, or perhaps the liquid is just a bit different. (ETA: I think my carto had had it, I've filled a new one, and now I'm not needing to keep topping off every half a dozen inhales to avoid the burnt taste...hopefully my usage should revert back to normal now...) Anyway, I've been on the nic free all day today so far, and am doing fine,so hopefully I've got the nicotine addiction bit cracked now. Not to sure where I will go from here. I feel a long way off being ready to stop vaping yet, so I guess I will just keep vaping 0mg for a few weeks and see how I feel after that. I really didn't realise how important the psychological part of the addiction was - thought it was all about the nicotine!

I know that my addiction IS psychological as much as physical. I punctuate my life with cigarettes, always have done, and the thought of not having a tab available still scares the hell out of me. I have a few mods but this past few days have actually gone back to a slim 510 auto' battery as I can hold it pretty much like a tab. If somebody could develop a cig-a-like that had a decent battery life and a useable PCC to carry it in I think they would get a lot of sales!

There are plenty of vendors selling PCCs. I'm pretty sure Jason at Vape Escape stocks them.
