Hi all I have read that I should not use carts or clears below 2 ohms on my riva battery. I was wondering why and what sort of battery is suitable for lower than 2 ohms? I've ordered a mini nova and one of the heads is below 2 that comes with it. Thanks Pam

Thanks Pam A 1100mah twist would be ideal for those heads: www.vapeescape.co.uk/joyetech-ego-c-twist-vv~367It also gives you the flexibility to "play" with the volts (by twisting the bottom of the battery) so you can find that sweet spot witht he Vivi Nova's.

Its very very likely that the 1.8 ohm head will be fine on the riva. The problem is that when fully charged a rival will push out 4.2v and a very low res attiie will draw a lot of power when the switch is pressed and the switch itself can just about handle that kind of power running through it before it burns out. A standard ego will only put out 3.3v regardless of the power drain. As Tim suggested above, the twist has the circuitry to handle high power drains and would be a better choice by far.

Thanks for that easily understood explanation. I am completely clueless when it comes to stuff like that I will invest in a twist when I get paid, a lot of people seem to rate them. Pam

As we speak I have just tested the ohms on a couple I have (with my new toy) and they come out at 2.2 ohm.

OT but every time I read the word "ohms" I picture a cross legged hippy meditating! :-[

The antidote to this problem, is to think now old George Simon would react to being thought of as a hippy Attachments:

Would you believe it - I was going to post exactly the same question as I've just got my mini nova kit to use with my riva. Damn I suppose I'll have to go buy a twist. Oh well, at least I'll get yet another pen

Certainly not pinkerbell - I'm sure he sat up very straight when he wrote his masterwork "Die galvanische Kette, mathematisch bearbeitet" I'm not sure I understand what that means even when translated!
