Hi Chrissie. don't worry - it was just a screen shot of my opening page!!
I have tried that link and many like it - nothing is helping. I have found places which have exactly my problem, but their solutions have not helped me. Apparently it is happening to others but I cant find a resolution.
I have no BACK button so everything is difficult. Some places I have bookmarked but cannot find them again. I have rung my techy man and hope he will ring me soon. If he's not sunning himself somewhere exotiic!!

Hello MM, I'm still alive I imagine that what you did is: Installed Zone Alarm and neglected (emotive word, I don't mean it that way) to untick "yes, please install such-and-such a wonderful toolbar". Uninstalled ZA and it took all its bits with it, leaving you with no toolbars at all. It has to be recoverable. I shall catch up with All-About and then investigate further. Most important - incoming phone calls should not be cutting off your broadband Maybe your techie man can help but perhaps Virgin customer service can take you thru your settings ??? scylla

MM - it could be that you have turned off the toolbars by accident, or possibly you are running full screen.
If its fullscreen, then you can get easily everything back by pressing the F11 key on your keyboard. This acts like a toggle, so if it doesn't cure the fault press F11 again. I don't think this is the problem as restarting FF would get you back to normal.
If you have lost the toolbars, then you can get them back by doing this:-
Press and hold the Alt key, then the V key. This will give you the view menu in a box at the top of your screen. "Toolbars" should be highlighted in blue.
Then use the right arrow key (or mouse) to bring up the box with the toolbar options. Select the menu bar, navigation toolbar and bookmarks toolbar (they should all have a tick against them) and you should be back to normal.
(Once you get the menu bar back you can just use the mouse to click "View" "Toolbars").
Hope I have explained it clearly - its easier to do than to explain.

Full screen has not occurred to me because it's not supposed to have been implemented - but of course it could have been done by accident. Great thinking, Stan. Wouldn't it be great if that works I didn't know anything about Alt+V, either. Looks like we're motoring Thank you Stan! scylla

Thanks Ragjoy, I will try that link and let you know. MM Raggy I have been there and registered and made a test post, but I don't know what happens next. They have confirmed I have registered etc. Just realised, I have Computer Active delivered regularly - guess I could've asked them!!! But I don't think they have forums as such. MM magicma, just ask the questions about your problems in whatever section seems relevant. you will get a response, they will walk you through it. you may have to download some bits and pieces. raggy..................

Good advice from Stan MM (& Scylla & Raggie as well)
Just got your screenshot via another email from Scylla & from looking at it, there may be a slight chance that if you right click on the grey bar at the top & tick the boxes in the drop down menu, it will solve your problem.
If that doesn't work, hows about a system restore?

If that doesn't work, hows about a system restore? MM said above she can't do system restore I am very hopeful that either: (1) Hit F11 key will restore the toolbars; (2) Alt key + V will bring up the menu to select toolbars. As per Stan's advice. Those are the most simple steps to try, then if no good, Raggy's help site. (Girls and boys - just to show how dizzy I was yesterday - I was instructing MM to use her mouse combined with key hits, in great detail, and suddenly realised I was giving instructions for a left-hander - MM must have been in contortions ) scylla

Hi All - my techie man is calling on Wednesday - keep everything crossed.
I'm not fiddling with anything more myself 'cos things get worse when I do!! But must admit some of those things ^^^^^^ sound very tempting. I will write 'em down and suggest them to techy man if he can't cope!!! I'm going to watch to see if he hits the F11 key (evil grin!)
No, I haven't been able to do System Restore for a while - think it's something to do with my drives. It is on list for techy man!!
Thanks to all of you. Luv MM

YOU AIN'T GOING TO BELIEVE THIS!!!! Just opened up - all my bars, links, bookmarks and sidebar etc have all appeared again. I have one extra bar across the top which is blacked out but everything else is there - my back/forward buttons etc. Heaven only knows how that's happened!!
My techy man is due in about an hour.........!!! Never mind, I need him to check other things for me!!
Amazed MM !!
I am going to log out and shut down completely now to see if it's still there when techy man comes. So will be back later MM
Another modify - just noticed the ZoneAlarm bar is across the top (under the black bar) but nowhere near as intrusive as it was.
