i remember there was a thread started a few weeks ago. can't remember who started it, but it was called, Is vaping making me ill?
About bad backs and aches etc....especially after using PG juice....propylene glycol converts to lactic acid, apparently, which causes aches.
well. it got me thinking. because, though i've suffered from stupidly tight shoulder, neck and back muscles for a few years now, and am riddled with knots, it's certainly gotten worse recently.
i wondered if it might be down to modafinil, a drug i take sometimes after a night shift to keep me awake, as it kind of tenses you up. codeine used to do the same for me, tensed me up, though i don't touch it anymore...
but i've been away for two weeks, on holiday, and i didn't bring any modafinil with me...and my back was worse than ever, even with the gorgeous warm weather and lots of relaxing.....i thought maybe it was the PG, and it was especially bad now because i was chain-vaping, what with all the wine i was drinking....so i decided to try a day without using PG. stuck to bobas county. and my back was fine. totally fine. continued sticking with the 100% VG, and my back continues to be fine.
also a little less phlegmy now.
so now i know that. and i wanted to pass it on, just in case other people are having similar probs.
and while i'm on the subject, anyone tried any of the virgin vapors juices? they're all 100% vg. any vg recommendations? i hear pixie lady is happy to mix a 70/30 mix.....thank god, i wouldn't want to be without my dodge.

Hi hun, Welcome back, hope you had a great time Thanks for your post, it's really interesting. I've had back problems on and off for years, trapped nerves in my neck/sciatica, My last full time office job just about crippled me. But I had been ok for a while, going to the gym helped etc. I have started having problems again the last couple of months. Since I started vaping, but also since I started doing 10 hour shifts sitting in broken chairs with no back support and not getting to the gym. I've never done any experimenting at all with PG/VG ratios. I've always had standard 70/30 PG/VG I do think my back problems are starting up again because of new job and not getting to the gym, but after your post I may look into PG ratios too

Hi all been crazy busy so unable to contribute much but have always used AAEC as my reference point, best board on the net! great to see all the old faces and lots of new... Meant to post on this topic before as the health aspect is important/a concern to us all and we are here to support each other. My experience: A few months back I girded my loins and attacked a job I had been putting off for years, swapping the entire contents of furniture between some holiday apts I have in Bulgaria. Hired a monster van, just went and got stuck in. I took with me some purchased premix, I think 70/30% PG-VG, not sure, the vendor calls it BM-1. Anyway, job done and home, I started getting terrible aches around the elbow joints, it felt just like I had been overdoing it with free weights in the gym, so put it down to the lumping of the furniture. It would not go away so I started suspecting either the vaping or "GASP" the fact I'm starting to rock on a bit I knew nothing about the lactic acid/PG effect but as soon as I googled into it I realised that's EXACTLY what I ws feeling, just like I'd overdone it in the gym=lactic acid production. Sooo... the only PG I vape now is to use up my stock of flavours and concentrated nic, keeping the ratios minimal I have more or less alleviated the aches, I will eventually move over to all VG. Get a wee bit phlegmy, no doubt due to the consisitency of VG but nothing like during my "stinkie" days. Just my experience, hope it helps anyone else who's getting the aches. That's over 15 months for me without a fag now, brilliant! Best thing I have ever done! Even if the s!#ts did come after us with their "sin taxes" I would grudgingly pay so as not to put another fag in my mouth, ruin my health and stink. Vape on peeps... Scoots.

yeah, i ordered some virgin vapors this morning. i'll let you know how i get on. they're prob the sort of juices which need one hell of a steep, like callum's stuff...also, bobas county and gorilla juice - dunno if liberty flights have them in stock at the mo....i like them, but i don't love them....i'm sure you've heard all about them...
also, i think pixie will happily do a predominantly Vg mix if you ask her, but not 100%....i think a 70/30 or maybe a 80/20....ask her. i'm gonna. can't be doing without the old dodge. i reckon 70/30 or 80/20 will be OK, keeping the PG to a minimum, but also getting some throat hit, which VG alone won't deliver. i think the only juice she'll do 100% VG is cherry-licious, though you'll have to confirm this (googled all this earlier)...
right now i'm vaping some VG chocolate hazelnut from liberty flights with just a smidge of dodge to tart it up nice....its doing the job actually. good luck, ciar.

Hi, I use the organic 100 perecent vg liquid from ukecigstore. And I'd recommend it. However, I think theres an issue just at the moment effecting the taste. I had order after order hit the spot like no other juice. Full of flavour no matter how long you vaped for, hit after hit. But for some reason the last order isn't quite as good. The flavour is muted. I believe its to do with steeping. I think the last batch flew of the shelves and maybe the 100 percent vg needs more steeping time I dunno. I left my bottles with lids off for a week. After that steep they smelt lovely but still muted taste. I'm unsure to be honest if I should have left them for that long with the tops off. I've since replaced the tops and left them steeping for another week with tops on. The taste appears to be much better. Hopefully another week and the flavour will return as strong as it was before.
I wouldn't disregard them coz when there on song, nothing comes as close that I've tried for endurance of taste.
As for aches and pains. I had a fitness test yesterday with no complaints.

Will check both those out, cheers for the replies, going to give 70vg/30pg a whirl to start with and see where we go from there, getting sick and tired of the phlegm so it's time to have a switch around
