Hi there. I have been reading all your words of wisdom and advice for a few days and thought I ought to do the decent thing and stop lurking. First, a big thank you for helping me find my way through the maze of vaping vocabulary. I thought I was giving up smoking, but I didn't realise I would be learning a whole new language!! Second, thanks as well for providing such a useful resource. I don't think I've spent so long on Youtube, Wiki or the internet in general since my kids stopped asking for help with their homework!! I'm literally only a few days into this vaping lark, but it's going well so far. I did a lot of reading and researching and so on to begin with and got myself an ego starter kit and some juices, and have ordered some extra cartomisers so I can do a bit more experimenting. Being too mean not to use up my last packet of fags, and too weak-willed to have them in the house and not smoke them, I had probably five or six left to smoke alongside my first vaping attempts, but since I finished the pack I can honestly say that I'm not feeling the urge to smoke cigarettes at all. Long may the feeling continue. Even those few fags lasted me a day and a bit, so already a result from the normal 20+-a-day!! I'm still feeling a bit baffled by the whole vaping thing. It seems like every time I thing "OK, yeah, got it" I find another thing that has me flummoxed. So just a word of warning that I may be back with the usual newbie stupid questions in the very near future. Thanks again for all the help that's here!

Hi and Kickit. Dont worry about "stupid" questions. We all started the same. It is a huge learning curve from taking a ciggie out of a packet and lighting it up, to setting up with vaping gear. What kit did you buy? We all need to know what you use so we can offer advice.

kickit, I know exactly how you feel regarding how complicated it all seems at first, but there is so much information on the web and on this forum. AAEC members who help and support and answer all manner of questions patiently have made the transition from 26 years of smoking to full time vaping just so easy for me I still have half a pouch of tobacco on the mantle piece, I have no intention of smoking it I just love the fact I can stick two fingers up at it first thing in the morning when I sit down for my first coffee and a menthol vape. Thank you all for the welcomes and the support! Pam O, I agree, it seems like the members here are a mine of helpful info and support/advice - probably a good advert for the fact that vaping is good for your nerves!! Brianfletch: I got an eGo clearomiser kit with 2 complete units plus chargers. These are 650's but as I'm not out and about too much, they seem fine, and so far a charged battery seems to be lasting a long time. My first schoolgirl error was probably to opt for low-nicotine juices at only 5mg....but so far (and because I know no different) these are fine for me, and I'm not feeling the urge to kick the cat or the husband, so I'm not going to order anything stronger until one of those two (cat/husband) starts complaining!

Hi Kickit & #welcome2# You've got a good basic kit there and I'm sure it will serve you well. if you're happy with 5mg juices then that's great! You know if you do feel the cravings you can go up higher, but only if you feel the need. No question is stupid, by asking basic questions all those people that lurk or maybe have the same question but don't post in the forum can read about your experiences and get their questions answered. Please keep us up to date on how you're getting on, let us know if you try something different and what your toughts are and above all well done for giving up the stinkies!

Welcome kickit and as you say the language can seem a bit strange I've been a member for a couple of months and there are times when I think they're talking a foreign language. Dave

650mah batteries and clearo`s are a good starter option.
We always recommend to have back-ups though.
With most people, its not as easy to get vaping gear if something goes wrong with yours, or you lose it. With stinkies you can just pop to your corner shop for a fresh packet, not so easy for a new clearo, or juice, battery etc.
