I normally shake the clearos out over the sink, then blow through the centre from the base, then the drip tip until it sounds clear of water, finally I get the last bits of water with a paper towel, fill them up and chuck them back on straight after washing them.

Don't risk using anything that may have a short Captain, it's really not worth it.
You were lucky to get away with it and probably won't do second time around.
The eGo-C batteries do reset themselves when attached to the charger, but not always.
As a general rule, if your battery behaves strangely, remove whatever is on the top of it and try something else - Never try the top on another battery.

No, don't bin the body or base, just try a new head. The biggest mistake that people make with the V3 is to over tighten them on the battery. Just put them on touch tight, until they fire. Don't be tempted to tighten them right down if there's still a tiny gap between the bottom of the V3 and the battery rim. People seem to think that unless they are 'vice tight' they will leak - this isn't the case.

Thanks for that, new head on, all sorted, how often would you recommend cleaning , obviously if trying a different juice but if you are using the same juice is it better to clean daily or just when performance drops ?

I dont clean them at all to be honest, unless changing flavours.
I generally get a couple of weeks out of a head and then change it - although this can be less with some liquids (particularly with caramel, coffee etc).

I'm in the non cleaning camp as well Captain, either I vape through a flavour change, or bin something/pass on to the Modders, when it's past it's best.

I like the sound of this non cleaning lark, i suppose it depends on what flavour you are changing to and from as to how smoothly it goes, im finding liquids i didn't like to start with are growing on me when i go back to them, do liquids improve with age i wonder

Many e-liquids do improve with age, especially freshly mixed ones. Plus it could also be due to your taste buds going through changes & coming back to life

Quite often vendors state on their site Captain Grizwalds and Pixiejuice both state that they are freshly mixed and Stanton who does tailor made

Most of the Chinese juices like Dekang/hangsen that are sold as standard juices aren't freshly mixed, so should have had time to steep before they get to you.
Vendors that either mix their own juices or have someone mix them for them are often very freshly mixed. For instance, grizwald juices from Vape escape, Pixie Juice, Paradise Vape's juices etc.
