I bought a SD Keyring and used it on my recent journey to and from Turkey with no problems. Planning on using it again this afternoon, I put it on to charge, this morning. When I came to unplug it, the light on the charger was still showing red even though it had been on long enough to be fully charged and the USB mains adapter, charger and battery were all really hot to touch. I've tried a cartomiser on it but it is completely dead.
Is there any hope for it, or will it be no good now?

I am no expert here but if it where me I would first try cleaning the contacts on the end of the battery and the end of the charger,if that doesnt work have you got a spare charger or another battery you can try on the charger

I've cleaned the contacts but it's made no difference. The Keyring battery doesn't fit on any of my other batteries, although its charger fits on my Rivas and Egos. If it is the Keyring charger that is faulty, is it likely to damage my other batteries?

When you look down the center hole in the misbehaving SDK, can you see a bit of orange/red?

The SDK charger has a slightly different output to the riva/ego chargers. I was advised against using it on other batteries

If it got really hot whilst charging, I would just dispose it off safely..What could have happened is that the auto switch got stuck in the on position and you tried to charge it at the same time..It's very common with the SDK..
That would have ended up destroying the battery..Karma is right. I would also not use the SDK charger to charge up RIVA's. It will end up overcharging the batteries as the output of the SDK charger is 5V.
