USA - Blu e-cigs new national TV ad

Blu cigs, in the USA, have launched a new national TV ad staring Stephen Dorff (Hollywood Star).

The Ad is entitled "Rise from the Ashes" and emphasises the benefits of electronic cigarettes to a smoker.

"I am tired of being a walking ashtray"
"“And how about not having to go outside every ten minutes when you’re at a bar with your friends?”

"We are all adults here, it is time to take our freedom back"
"C'mon guys, rise from the Ashes !"

Blu cigs was recently bought out by Lorillard, one of the biggest Tobacco companies in the USA

This is not the first TV ad that Blu have done, but it is the biggest and these Ads will also appear in print media.

Interesting move, and show that Lorillard is serious about promoting the Blu brand and e-cigs in a big way.

How long before UK tobacco, like Imperial or B.A.T, does the same thing over here?

Blu is the name used in the USA for Skycig

I believe I did read somewhere that a couple of the top dogs at BAT had gone in with skycig to try to get them into the supermarkets and corner shops, the fact they are going so high profile in the states is a good thing, as the UK will undoubtedly follow, lets just hope the government don't take notice and start taxing e-cigs

I notice that he says he is "smoking" his Blu e-cigs.

I can understand that, as I used the same word to get my mother in law on to skycigs, she still refers to it as smoking, and 95% of the time still only "smokes" in the kitchen.

If I refer to it a vaping, she looks bemused, as do most of the people I work with.

Oh dear. Making vapeing look as glamorous as cigarette advertisers used to is just the sort of thing that will make governments want to ban it IMO.
