The site Oneday linked to is where I got mine, using multiple thinner wicks works much better on the Penelope

Don't bin the old heads! Throw them in some warm water and chuck them around a bit to clear some of the gunk, then leave to dry for a day or two - it might have some life left in it Helps to keep the costs down... At some point though, they have just had it, but keep anyway in case you decide to rewick further down the line. I've had a go (without a huge amount of success it has to be said ) and plan to try again next time I decide a head is truly dead...

Nice one. I'm pretty happy with the 3.5mm on the pene. It's worth a try though. I like messing about with things. Plus, I picked up a Spheroid V2 today and have put some 3mm wick in there. It works well, but people have recommended using 2mm.

Try soaking them in vodka, patting them down with paper towel, removing the rubber tops on the heads and dry burning till no more smoke comes off. I find that after that and importantly pushing the rubber bits back on ALL THE WAY DOWN gets me back up and running in minutes with it tasting good as new.

Benny, you haven't experienced Penelope proper until you've tried Blakey's special multi-wick, a length of 2mm wick and a length of 1mm wick and a small extra piece of 2mm for the coil (wire goes around 5mm of wick) It's the dogs wetsuits wotsits, stupid auto-correct

Will give it a go. I've seen the pictures. Tried a 3mm wick with an extra piece for the coil and it worked well. The same with the 3.5mm was a bit too much though.

Got the 2mm and 1mm wick today and prepared a "Blakey Special". I used the same, cleaned up wire for the coil I had been using with some 3.5mm wick. I also had about half a tank of the juice left in the pene so I kept as many of the factors the same to give a true test. It seems the same as the 3.5mm wick. It works well. I guess if I didn't have the 3.5mm wick I would have noticed the difference more though. I am pleased with it, but not as happy as I couldn't make the coil and thread the wick through like I do with 3mm and 3.5mm.
