Now im aware that this post is going to make me sound a bit of a gonk, and stupidly dumb, but in my defense im still a relative noob when it comes to vaping and still "fining my way" but i'll plough on anyway.... I've been buying... www.vapeescape.co.uk/vision-ego-rainbow-v3-rebuildable~388Using em for a bit, an swilling 'em out with water to clean, then leaving them to air dry. I've a few in circulation. Anyway, as you've probably gathered they'd started to taste crappier and crappier, so earlier I decided to pull one to bits to see if if was possible to clean it further. Well bugger me, the string, or since ive discovered after, the wick, was truly gunked up. Right I thought, that's why they're tasting godawful. And then Ihad a lightbulb moment (i get them occasionally- usually twice yearly) so this is the wick I hear every now and then on here...AHAAA!!! So off i go in search of it- can't find any. Well I lie, i found it one site, but sods law- out of stock. Now inbetween laughing at me- can anyone please point me in the direction of where I can get this string/wick stuff from? And hopefully, God willing, i'll be able to actually fit it on my tank without causing injury to myself or blowing myself up or something equally disastrous.

I went on a bit of a wick buying frenzy the other night (don't ask it all started with a spiky thing ) I can pop you some in the post, you're gonna need wire too unless you have some, I can send you a little of that too, enough for you to decide whether rewicking them is for you, or whether you just prefer ready made replacement heads. PM your address if you like and I can pop it in the post tomorrow

Yes I saw those, an whilst i'll probably get some, i've become aware that you can buy the wick separately which is cheaper still.

oh eck, its not as simple as shoving the string through? I need to shove wire in as well? I can see this ending not terribly well if i start dabbling in things like that!

You'll need both wick and coil wire to revive the heads and while it is inexpensive it's very fiddly to do in such a small space..

oh, scrap that then - i'll just stick to the replacement head things. I thought it'd be as simple as shoving the string through. I'm not into doing techincal things, lol.
Ellen, thank you for the kind offer, but the idea's scaring me now- i'll pass, but #KissBlowSmiley1# anyway.

No probs Boo, I've got all the stuff here to do it and I've never got around to it for the clearos, I have enough trouble with my other rebuildables As Macca says the space is very small to work in and I think it would frustrate me

Boo, get the replacement heads for now. When you take the old head off, before you bin it, have a good look and disect it to see how it was put together. I've not rewicked/coiled myself yet, but I'm reading and looking and learning and becoming less scared

Me too truth be told, didn't realise it was so fiddly. And I do have clumsy fingers, probably wise me not fettling in what I know nowt about, lol.
I'll just stick to the heads- its safer!

Jeez I am so blind close up that I have had to put a blob of nail varnish on the twist so I know where I am with it, I would stand no chance trying to rewick/wire something as small as those little heads

I was thinking about messing with some wick variations as I only have 3mm and 3.5mm wick at the moment. Thanks.
