Penny wasn't performing very well, tight draw, burnt taste and none could be adjusted to help. I rewicked it three times and still wasn't happy. So Blakey suggested taking it to bits and boiling it (minus o rings of course) - well that's what I did, even had a spare ceramic just in case and I'm glad to report it is back to the way it was when I got her!!!!! I only use Penny to vape with and it's a right pain when your main tank is on the blink, so I can defo recommend a boil up with her every now and again, completely rejuvenates the experience! Cheers Blakey

Tim, Just wanted to check, did you put all the bits in a pan and boil them on a stove? Did you have the ceramic in at the time?

Ceramic was left in and yes everything went in but leaving o rings out. Leave it all to cool down and then I removed the ceramic from the housing and gave it a secondary clean with some hot water and some kitchen towel.
Vape has improved, flavour improved and the colour of the water in the pan tells me it did a proper job of de-crapping the bits!!

How long did you leave it in the boiling water on the stove/cooker hob?

I must say my ceramic is minging. Proper stained. I was gonna replace with a new ceramic but seeing as though its not broken, I thought id just leave it. I've noticed that I haven't been getting a brilliant vape on mine but put it down to the wick not performing too well. I'll give this a go Thanks for sharing.

Benny - just a few minutes (say 3/4)
Jay - To be honest it has completely cleared the bloody thing out, the juice control & mouthpiece appeared to dump a fair bit of crap as well. Worth doing IMHO!!

No problem Tim For them stubborn ceramic problems then the best thing to do is hook some wire through the ceramic and put it over the gas burner till it's glowing orange, this burns all the impurities away and really cleans it out but it's very important to let it cool naturally because the shock of quenching it in cold water will cause it to crack. All minor gunkiness can be resolved by boiling for 3-5mins. I leave the ceramic in the housing when I do this because over time it will become more brittle and can be easily damaged by removing it.

Yes....I found the best way to clean it was to smash it to pieces, throw it in the bin and put a new one in I'm not very good a the intricate stuff

I don't take it to bits. Just rinse it with some hot water when changing flavours.
I bought some Autosol and shined them up the other day. Really good stuff. If anyone knows about Autosol, does it wear down the stainless over time or if you use it too often? Reason I ask is because it leaves quite a dark mark on the cloth when you use it.
