I had the same thing with the VIP cigalikies when i started out.
After emailing the company and explaining the problem they responded that i must have charged it for more than the recommended 2 hours and therefore it was my negligence.
No wonder i found a much better, cheaper, longer lasting method of vaping soon after.

I know this issue, my mother in law managed to get this to happen, she left her battery on charge in her PCC, and put the PCC on charge (something the instructions say not to do).
As for having batteries on charge for over 2 hours, I regularly have my cig-a-like batteries on charge in my PCC for longer, and haven't had any issues

I had the same with NUCIG. Wrote them, no response. Got some standard 510s instead. (NUCIG's Marlborough flavour isn't bad though, for a VG)

Didn't you tell them that for safety the battery should have a cut off when it reaches a certain charge, and if that failed, despite how long you left it on, then there was a manufacturing fault, and the device was actually not just unfit for purpose, but very unsafe too... Yes it is good practice to take them off when they are charged, but that safety feature should be, and in my experience of VIP's, is in place, if it failed, then that's their problem IMO.

What's being described is the auto switch sticking due to e-liquid/condensation ingress and nothing to do with the charging as far as I know..
And you can try cleaning the auto switch by dunking it in IPA if you can get to it, but not really worth the time or the effort.
