Still on the steeping subject. I have my first 7 juices on the go and 5 are on day 5 and 2 on day 3. Of the 5 on 5, 4 are doing well but a Cappuccino is a bit bitter. I have some Ethyl Maltol almost ready to use and I intend to sweeten the Cappuccino with this. How long do I steep the Cappuccino before deciding it is ready to be sweetened? Then how long do I steep it for, after I add the Ethyl Maltol?

I'd leave it a week myself Lobey, also I give my bottles that are steeping a good shake at least once a day until I test them, after you've added sweetner . . . I'd probably leave it another 3/4 days before trying again.

I made several recipes last week and have been golden in that I havent touched em, really proud !!, Today was my first after 7 days "Frogsters Dark Tobacco" , rather a complex recipe with no less than 6 ingredients not including base ingredients (also i decided I would rather have peach as opposed to Orange), considering the small amount of tobacco flavourings the taste is pretty amazing in fact its the first home made Ive done that I am now going to make 50ml of, its that good, but i digress, I had a smell and shake of the liquid every day and today was the first day it didnt smell of anything harsh whereas before it had slight chemical tones. so 7 days for that one and its a tobacco, primarily. im going to put it away for another week as I have so many flavours and so much juice to use, gonna be interesting to see if it improves because I cant imagine it getting better

Well thats a big thumbs up for the "Dark Tobacco" from you then Skwoody, Glad you like it my friend.
Lobey, Ethyl Maltol (made up as a flavour / sweetener concentrate) does not require steeping.... just make it up, shake, make sure the crystals dissolve, once all the crystals are dissolved it is ready to use.
Its when you add it to a mix of flavours you may find "the final mix" may require steeping, as would any other mix of flavours (so they marry together).

Thanks Slwoddy, yes mine are improving as the days go by. One of my reasons for drifting into mixology is that my main daily vape is sometimes out of stock and I wanted to see if I could replicate it by making it myself.
Well it rather looks like I can because F'art make the flavouring and I tried it last night (day 3) and it is 90% there.
Now that I know I can make this particular juice can have a stash put by, I can be a little more adventurous in looking for other flavours that may take my fancy. I can also give flavours the time to settle out properly.
I am still amazed by how much a flavour can change and improve in a 24 or 48 hour period. Almost chalk & cheese.

Thanks Frogster, will do.
My Ethyl Maltol has a fine dusting on the base, but otherwise looks ready for use.
I will leave the Cappuccino another few days, just to see if it improves and to get its full taste, before I start tweaking it.
