Well I think I'll really only be using it to try these liquids, I don't really want to get into rewicking etc............ and it probably wouldn't ever get used again.

Buy a cheap 510 atty then.
As you`ve probably got drip tips already, so dont bother with a 306.
Vapeescape do one for under a fiver. Or when you next buy from a vendor, drop one in your basket and save on seperate shipping.

Back to the original question.
What would be the best thing to recommend to any newbies.
Im guessing something like a SR atty, as so many seem to be going for Riva kits, and LR atties are not really suited to those batteries.
So, 510 standard resistance? Plus drip tip? £4.50 +£1.50 = £6.00 as a guide.

Buy an Olympian 306 l/r, they're £5.99 less discount from ECW and come with a drip tip. It might seem expensive but mine has just popped today, which considering I bought it on the 18th of march has been outstanding value. For taste, vapour and throat hit they're a great atty. Easy to clean, don't seem to hold strong flavours after a change like others do and they have a slightly wider bridge than ther 306's and hold the juice well.

ok, so which is better? a 306 or a 510? I'm not too worried about getting another drip tip, they cost naff all anyway, but as I'm about to build my own VV mod in the next few days, it would be nice to start looking at direct dripping.

general consensus says the 306 is better than the 510.
You will also need a 306 drip tip to use one.
However, for the sake of newbies starting out, and wanting to try juices until they find something suitable. I will be recommending a bog standard 510 standard resistance.

I think the flavour thing is important for noobs. And dripping attys are great for flavor. But most noobs are quitting the fags and flavour might not be most important for all of them. I know I wanted a decent drag. That is what I wanted more than anything. Even now I occasionally fill a decent low res cart. Great flavour and draw. But that's just me.

This is more for the newbies to be able to try different juices without wasting a carto or clearo Jayjay. Nothing is as simple as dripping a few drops and puffing away.

I'm not exactly a newbie and have about 40 flavours here that dont suit. I've tried them all a couple of months ago in cartos/ visions. I just want to try them again before they go on classifieds ( just in case) but don't want to faff about, a quick drip and I'll know if they are still no good, callum has something for an Ego which I'll get when I put my order in this week. I just asked him if he had something basic to with a 510 fitting, really quick and helpful reply from him as usual

My vote would go for the SR 306. It's tried, tested, easy to use and reasonably cheap, even with the added drip tip. And as you say Brian, drop an atty in with another order to avoid postage

I have never got on with the drip atomisers and so, to test my mixes or try out new flavours, I use the Bud Atomiser. www.safercigs.co.uk/BUD__Tank_Atomizer/cat705284_844680.aspxAt 2 for £4.50, although a bit fiddly with the wee rubber bung at the top, because it is a bottom feeder (no wick) it is easy to fill with a syringe and needle and also easy to wash out the same way. By just putting about 1/4 inch into the tank and vaping that, I get a good clean vape, then a quick wash out and straight onto the next flavour. If like me, you don't get on with dripping, try the Bud.

If you'd like a warm vape, I'd suggest a 901 . . . but that means there's the additional expense of an adapter. A 510 does the job, although personally I prefer a 306 for flavour. Those I find last the best and a bath in Des's patented denture bath method, breathes new life into them.
