Newbie question!

Hiya everyone!

Newbie here. Have been vaping for the last week or so and very happy to have found an alternative to smoking , considering that I wasn't even considering quitting.
My partner suggested it one day , as he is a non smoker and I said " OK , why not? Let's give it a try! "

Then I discovered these forums and the wonderful community of vapers , so have been reading this forum constantly in the last couple of days.

Now I got a question : is e-juice really harmful for your mouth and lips? It does happen that you end up with liquid in your mouth or lips once in a while.
My lips have been quite raw and sore since I started vaping. I do wipe it off afterwards but it hasn't helped.

Hi and welcome to the forum #7261_9485# , are you using cartos or clearos , and if you are using the cartos do you use a mouthpiece with them ?

Hiya beautycat and thank you for the warm welcome. I'm using cartos that I top up myself with juice , they have a little plastic top ( I think they are called bungs? )

Aha I think that may be the problem, are the bungs white and have a hole in, if so the best way to solve this is to take that out and get a drip tip like this www.vapeescape.co.uk/transparent%2Dcoloured%2Ddrip%2Dtips%2D%28510%2F901%29%7E142 this will keep the hot liquid away from your mouth

could be a dry mouth
take sips of water when you vape as you will feel dry
also your body may be reacting to the fact that you are not having the toxins and crap you used to get when you were smoking, some people get mouth ulcers and minor ailments as a way of the body cleaning itself wether you are vaping or using other methods for not smoking the ciggies

Yes, exactly - they are white with a little hole in them . I remove the bung and drip the liquid in the carto - but sometimes I still get liquid on my lips when I vape. Thank you so much beautycat - I watched the video attached to it and it said that you should use the drip tips with a manual battery and I have an automatic one Oh no!

Ulcers are very common when you give up smoking, I had them and sore lips, I wouldn't worry to much about a bit of juice on your lips etc although it's not desirable as it can irritate a bit, drip tips are much better to use and will help a lot as BC says.

There are so many good item on the market these days and so much to chose from, it can be quite baffeling on times but just ask away and someone will always help

Thank you for the warm welcome Sandra . There is indeed so much info around , and I feel like such a newbie for not knowing what some of the things mean. But I suppose we've all been there at the beggining.

Probably vaping strong menthol juice doesnt help either . Used to be a menthol smoker and so far , out of the 4 juices I have , only the strongest of strong menthols has helped out cure the cig cravings.

The video on the drip tip link is talking about direct dripping with a drip tip & an atomiser, rather than just using the drip tip as a comfortable mouth piece on a cartomiser.

What type of auto battery do you have out of interest?

Thank you for the recommendation Colliwobbles ( fun nickname by the way! ) - I shall give it a go next time Im placing an order. I've gone for Volcano Menthol burst which is one of the strongest menthols on the market or so I read.

I bought a starter kit from Jacvapour , it's nice and sleek but the battery life is rather weak. Will look to upgrade at some point

Ah, I hope you know that Jacvapour e-cigs have KR808D threads whereas most other vendors mainly sell batteries/cartos etc with 510 threads. So the Vision ego's that BC linked to wont fit your batteries.
