So as a bookworm i was very pleased when I got my phone to find out I could get kindle on it! Sometimes I pay for books and was enjoy reading the Nancy detective books but at £5 each I can't afford them atm. Besides i got a bit fed up of them all being so similar...! So I've moved onto the free classics but as I have little concentration atm I'm reading the children's ones which I am thoroughly enjoying! IN recent weeks I've read heidi, little lord fauntleroy, the Pollyanna series and the what Katy did series. I'm currently on the first little women book. Although these were all primarily written for children I reckon lots of adults would enjoy them too, they have a real feel good factor! I studied English literature at university (although I didn't complete the course due to nervous breakdown) so a bit of me feels guilty, but the rest of me is enjoying them so much I don't care, and at least they're more intellectual than the Nancy books!!!!
ALso on my kindle list I have loads of supernatural/magic books written for teens, maybe one day I'll grow up!
So what are you reading, what genre do you like and what are your little guilty pleasures?

John Grisham, Terry Pratchett, Simon Scarrow, Conn Iggulden ( really enjoying his Genghis Khan trilogy at the moment) are a few of my favourite authors.
There are times when I don't read for a year, but when I pick up again I don't stop for 8 or 9 books.

I'm reading the new Bernard Cornwell cook, a guilty pleasure, as I bought it in hardback, which I never do, as they are expensive

I usually read artsy literary stuff, like Marquez or Cormac McCarthy, and in the bath I always read anything by Charles Bukowski (I'm doing a critical paper on him - he's an awful womanising alcoholic and I adore him). Not many guilty pleasures, but I did read all the Harry Potters and quite enjoyed them, and would like to read more fantasy (like Songs of Fire and Ice, the book Game of Thrones is based on).
Tried to read Fifty Shades of Grey, purely for research purposes (was considering writing a quick smutty book just to make money) but it was so crap I didn't get past page six. Once read Twilight, for an essay I was writing, and found it also crap, but at least managed to read the damn thing.
Right now I'm reading a book called Grits by Niall Griffiths because I have to interview him. He's like a Welsh Irvine Welsh. Druggy losers and violence all written in regional dialect, mostly based in Aberystwth. Would have worshipped him when I was younger, but right now, in all honesty, I'd rather a bit o' 'Arry Potter. Gimme a wand over a smack pipe anyday.
And yes, this damn site gets read an awful lot.

Last year I came *this close* to getting bukowski tattooed on my butt cheek. Still kind of toying around with the idea.
'Sometimes you just have to pee in the sink.' - Bukowski

I'm reading a freebie medical murder mystery on my Kindle, it's not bad at all. I don't think I have a favourite genre, as I enjoy reading all sorts. If you're not fussy & a bit short of dosh from buying in new vaping gear, then you could try signing up for the daily Amazon freebie list on here www.kuforum.co.uk/kindleusersforum/ You can pick up to 15 genres that you're interested in, then you get a daily email. This link takes you straight to the sign up page to receive the list. www.kuforum.co.uk/mailinglist/add/

I usually read artsy literary stuff, like Marquez or Cormac McCarthy I haven't read any Marquez (although he is one of my gf's favourites), but I have read 'The Road' and 'Blood Meridian' by McCarthy, and I thought they were superb. I'm going to try reading all of the Border trilogy, I think. would like to read more fantasy (like Songs of Fire and Ice, the book Game of Thrones is based on) . The best fantasy story, in my opinion, is Tolkien's 'The Silmarillion'. The structure of it is a bit scrappy, as I believe a lot of it was thrown together from various incomplete bits of writing, but in terms of story, it's epic, and brilliant. (And there's no stupid hobbits in it.)
