If you have 25mls of 20mg and you add 25mls of 0mg you will get 50mls of 10mg

It can be the nic and perhaps swallowing small amounts but it can also happen with certain flavours in some people. I believe it can trick the brain into thinking food is coming and of course the stomach then produces more acid to get ready to digest it. This isn't from any scientific study but it makes a lot of sense when we're vaping flavours that replicate foodstuffs so something worth thinking about

Good point though I always thought it might have to do something with the fact that PG becomes acetic acid at some point..

I normally vape juices that are 18mg nic and not had a problem until i started on my Mintoff, and its 20mg which i though would be ok as its not that much more nic than my other juices, maybe it is just that bit too high.

If someone is susceptible to heartburn / acid reflux / indigestion etc , vaping can exacerbate the problem . I know from experience and have been using omeprazole for a long time. The plus side to omeprazole is I can now eat anything I like without fear of the pain that used to follow, oh and a big plus for me is I can enjoy a nice glass of wine with a vape

Chewing gum also has the same effect.

I had gastritis for years and if I vape too much I get bad heartburn again, in fact had some 24mg menthol left in the car and before I left work I topped my mini up with it, I have just had to take an omeprazole I have dropped to 18mg now and the bottle in the car was the only 24mg I had left. So the nic level is defo a factor. Pam

Have wondered for some time now whether it is vaping that is causing my heartburn, I feel better about it now knowing I'm not alone ( sorry but I do ) only use 10mg nic so don't think nic can be the cause....oh we'll stock up on the Gaviscon

As some have said go for some Omeprazole or similar, they are now over the counter medicines,DONT go for the Branded ones go for the shops own brand. Also stay away from Gaviscon etc,its too easy to get whats called "Rebound Acid Formation" and you will be worse off than before!!

I have never suffered with heart burn, up until Saturday, i started using the Mintoff on Thursday afternoon, i seem to be ok on other juices at 18mg nic, im not sure whether its a waste of time buying some Mintoff at 0mg nic and mixing now ???

I get less heartburn if I up my nic. If I swap from practically chain vaping on 24mg juice to the occasional toke on a 36mg juice I have no problem, but I can get it bad on the 24mg.

I get it very mildly, but have worked out that it ties to the time since I last ate, the longer I leave till food the more likely I get it, but as I say only mildly.

I thought I was the only one. Got diagnosed with a hiatus hernia so I'm used to acid reflux and thought quitting smoking would help with it. Vaping is not helping, in fact it seemed to be making it worse but I thought it was just me. I'm vaping 3mg nic on a 70/30 vg/pg and found it stopped when I started vaping less fruity juices. I like "creamy, nutty" flavours anyway so it's working well. BoOom juice's Oliver's Twist keeps the reflux away. Thank god I'm not the only one. In every other aspect of my health vaping is improving it. My chest pains have stopped completely and I have more energy now. Breathing is better, etc.
