Thanks, it does look quite hybrid like.
I just used what was to hand, that didn't involve going in the cupboard of doom...so it was p120 grade and the went over it with some wet n dry, don't know the grade as I've run out.

Macca - have you ever thought about writing a whole article/thread thingie dedicated to wicking and coiling SS mesh, like a very detailed tutorial, a one-stop place which has all the info....just seems like you're hella knowledgable about it and it would save you passing on the same advice over and over again in separate threads...and of course it would help us sorry lot I just read this so sorry for the delayed reply...There are a lot more people who are much more experienced with using SS wicks and I am by no means an expert. I learn new things about it almost everyday. From what I understand of SS wicks I did post this a few weeks ago if it is useful for anybody. Posting a how-to or making videos will not stop people asking the same questions. The same questions will arise time and again but I will try and put something together and post it in the tips and tricks and will add to it as I gain more insight into it with the help of others.

Weird I made up the second aga- t tonight and it kept glowing hot between the posi post and the top coil,I already had it bent towards the center,so I undid it and pulled it away, now working fine, seems to be the opposite of what everyone else did with that problem

Probably too much tension which was resolved when you undid the nut.. All my wicks are normally arrow straight..If oxidised and coiled correctly the wire run to the post will not glow.. The bending wick towards the post is an easy fix in some cases and that's why I suggested it..

Yes would agree with that,I was pulling the wire taught to bend it in,so in future will just do it straight and only do that if necessary

Went to a DIY store today and bought wet&dry paper to sand down the top cap on the aga-t to a line the air hole with ss wick, I can tell you it was hard work especially if you suffer with arthritis but got there in the end it makes a big difference juice tastes a lot better can realy taste the flavour, so glad i got this through the co-op and thanks again macca and perpetua, and to all who where involved.

FWIW the 'T' I got is a bit different. It's a left handed model ( ) Note where the wick hole is. I don't have a pic of the top cap, but it is a bit more tapered at the top and fully polished (a shiny fingerprint magnet now). I noticed on an earlier post someone commented that with 28ga wire the coil heats up slower, but with all those thicker extra wraps needed get to at least 1.5Ω, because of all that extra mass, it will also heat up less.

Hmm I've tryed flicking through all of this forgive me if I've missed it , but does anyone have the problem of the bottom screw you put the wire under not screwIng down far enough to hold the wire in place ? It seemed to work first time but now even tho it's screwed right down my wire just slides in and out think I need a new screw or something
