Just douse it with some spare juice and set it alight a couple of times..The carbonation will get the wicking going better and it will not pop and spit so much.. A couple of times? I've already done it a dozen times....

My wick meters out at about 35 ohms................ Should work ok if powered at 36volts Oops, read that wrong, should be coil Is 35 ohms good? Shouldn't it be zero conductivity?

I used the wick and wire from the spares they gave you,in a Vision V3,the coil came out at 1.1 ohms and popped pretty quickly

I did that thing where I jack frosted a small piece, then rolled and oxidised, then jack frosted another piece and rolled it around the smaller bit, then oxidised the whole thing (all on my gas stove), then juiced and lightered it a few times, then lightered the coil before wrapping, without rizla paper (was planning to but forgot), then i leaned the wick towards the post, made sure the coil was snug, no loose bits (you can find the loose bits by holding it up to the light, little gaps between coil and wick), and as macca has pointed out before, i made sure the top coil was level when attached to the post, not going at an upwards or downwards slant. Didn't do a dry burn, instead dripped juice on the wick and fired, and did this over and over again to build up a bit of gunk/carbon/whatever....and somehow this all worked. If only the same principles would apply on my damn vh-genny, which is inconsistent and a right PITA. I think getting the coil right straight away is important, otherwise your moving it around with your cocktail stick (or the dead end of a josstick if you have no cocktail sticks, like classy old me) and scraping off layers of carbon. Ooh, it'sa fiddly mother of a job. Why is this our hobby exactly? Someone remind me?

Why is this our hobby exactly? Someone remind me? Because it combines the thrill of engineering with the excitement of accountancy Dunno

Either I'm really lucky, or just have the knack, but I have had only minor problems with my genny types. FWIW I don't oxidise the mesh before rolling, don't really see the point. I start the roll around an opened paper clip, then remove and roll in the one direction only. When happy with the size, I put the p.clip back in and oxidise over the hob until happy. Drench in juice and lighter 2 or 3 times (keep a little bottle of dregs for this). I use the drill bit for the coil (2.5mm) left handed so end up doing clockwise winds after lightering the wire, 4/5 turns usually gives about 1.9ish, pop drill bit in, tighten up bottom end first, then top end. I've got into the habit of leaving a little tail at the top, makes any coil moving easier. Remove drill bit, burn at 3.2 for a couple, then 3.4, 3.6. When inserting the mesh make sure you turn with the outside edge trailing, not leading. Put juice on mesh & burn, checking for hotspots, move coil if necessary and juice/burn until happy. Fill tank, put top on and vape. Sorry if this is a bit 'egg sucking' for some of you, but it works just about first time, every time for me. On reflection I think I am just lucky

Another little tip, which works for me. If (when) your coil gets a bit gunked, I found an old electric razor brush helps clean/loosen the gunk to assist in removing the wick. In fact I tried it this morning with an old soft, splayed out toothbrush, then gently wiping with a cotton bud, you do need to be gentle though. It seems to help break the 'seal' you get between coil & wick.
