Actually you have a good point GL, I joined this forum for advice on what kit to buy, but actually what I also got was a support group thrown in for free.

exactly, in 1 short month of being here I have gone from a guy giving up the stinkies, to owning several nice bits of kit, building my own mods, making my own reviews, and getting support like this when needed.

I only came here looking to learn a bit more about making juices (next on my list)

I am glad to be a member here, I love the friendly atmosphere, and being able to talk with such a great bunch of people

That's very sad Jason and generally all it takes to be put off something for good. She clearly wanted a healthier alternative, but when someone you care about tells you it would embarrass them, it can shatter you to a million pieces.

I had a similar problem when I got glasses. I had a friend with me and he said I looked like The Proclaimers. Now I won't wear them when I'm out of the house because I feel very conscious of it. And my eyesight is so bad it really is dangerous for my health.

ewol that's such a shame, I would be the same, I can easily say "I don't care what people think" but the reality is I am not full of confidence and can get easily knocked too...........my oh got glasses recently and I am secretly quite jealous, I think glasses look really good if you get the right pair

I have loved watching Ex smokers try to dodge my vapour like its going to poison them,last week at a car meet,I had a smokers looking completely bemused at me vaping on a tin mod with a tank on top and couldn't bring himself to ask what is was,he just keep staring at me and my mod,looking completely bemused

I got out of my car yesterday at Tesco,walked across the car park and up to the door while merrily and deliberately puffing away on my full sized LT,when I didn't get a reaction I was a bit miffed.

I kept a copy of everything I had bought e-cig wise against what I would have spent on fags, but come the end of the month and the bank statement came in showing that I had saved a lot more than I had calculated, it didn't make sense.

So I checked my figures again and they were correct.

So the extra savings must have come from all the junk that I used to buy when I went into the shop everyday for my fags. Now that I am no longer daily shopping for cigarettes, I am also not spending unnecessary money on junk.

Very soon I will be looking at a newer car and perhaps even a caravan, all because I prefer to vape rather than smoke.

The only people who's opinions I take any notice of are those people who care about me. Why should I take notice of a person I'll never see again, someone who doesn't know me from anyone else and I'll prob never meet again. I'm not breaking any laws, going against anyones beliefs or infringing on their freedoms so why should I listen to their opinions on my behaviour.

I usualy take my unsightly black LT to the bar with me on friday nights and my friends in there pay no attention to it now. It may not look great but it bounces if needed lol

If we get some new folks come in and they ask about it I'll chat and answer any questions that I can. If they take the P out of it I tell them to get with the 21st century, even the BBC went digital

Some guys do ask if it can be multi functional, I tell them it's a function the modders are working on They usually just laugh and walk away happy they made a funny, and then normally come back a few mins later to ask if they can try it lol

If people you care about are just having a go at you or saying they are embarrassed to be seen with you when you use it, they aren't the kind of friends that want the best for you and I wouldn't have much time for them I'm afraid (not always possible with family though) . They should be proud of you, and rightly so.

Last time I spoke to him, my Dad asked me if I was still using my vapey doofah. When I said yes, he asked how long. I told him over a year now, his responce was.... your doing really well with that aren't you

Only the odd negative comment has come my way, I imagine living with negative comments must be difficult, one of the negative comments has come from someone who tried ecigs and they didn't work for them, I put it down to a bit of jealousy, my answer is, some people like to get their nicotine through patches or gum, I like mine through vaping.

Hi All, I just tell anyone that I tried the Nicotine replacement Therapy patches and I was allergic to it - made me itch and brought me out in a rash thats far more embarassing to be seen with!! Scratching like you've got fleas is so not a good look!! lol.

Gothiclord - I agree that its not so much youre embarassing them as they are embarassed they havent succeeded - I kinda feel for them - Sour Grapes cant be easy to swallow!!

I get some negative comments or laughter at the size of my ecig, it doesn't worry me at all... I know it works and is saving my life (as I look at it).

Most people don't understand ecigs, a very good friend of mine asked me the other day when I was going to stop using it, I said in about 30 years, which sort of stumped him a bit
