That vamping was stopping me from getting a cold. Thought that perhaps the regular hot vapour hitting my throat and sinuses might kill any viruses and I've managed to get through a couple of rounds of colds going round the office without falling victim.

But today I'm coming down with a cold, so that's the end of that revolutionary theory!

Actually it's a bit more than a theory..PG is a known bactericide..

Woohoo! I'm a genius and I didn't know it!

And no, not hitting as hard, just feel drowsy but can breath better than normal and still vamping through it. Cigs tasted bad at the best of times it when I had a cold they were ten times worse.

Toby, it might also be due to the PG in e-liquid that stops us getting as many colds.

It worked for me for over 10 months, I was convinced of the same thing, then I've just had multiple colds on the trot > Nasty ones too.

Maybe it wears off after a while

Well cold is caused by the adeno virus, so I doubt it's the PG anyways..But certain bacteria can cause cold too..

It's the body's defensive mechanism that causes the symptoms including the blocked nose and mucous if I remember my biology.

Started with a cold on Thursday, first one since I started vaping and this is the first time in a good few years that I haven't had a chest infection straight away but this one is the usual runny nose, sore throat, headache etc but I am happy in a strange sort of way as I dreaded getting a cold when I was smoking as day one I was ringing Doc's up for a prescription for antibiotics, so vaping has saved me £7 odd this week as well as all the other benefits.

Erm didn't you nearly die of some sort of flu virus earlier this year Blakey? I seem to remember Jason putting the gnomes on short time and all sorts of economic doom being predicted

Good point oneday, but I used to nearly die much worse before I started vaping

I seem to be starting the build-up to a cold (no surprise, coming into contact with as many snotty-nosed children as I do - I teach music in 12 different schools a week!), but so far the symptoms are no where near as severe as I used to get. I'm almost looking forward to it in a perverse sort of way, just so I can monitor how different it feels as an ex-smoker.
On Tuesday I was teaching a Year 3 girl (8/9 years old) and she wiped her mucous-sodden nose with her fingers and then proceeded to play the keyboard we were sharing. No surprise I carry ant-bac wipes with me - eeurgh!!
