Never too late, good to see for next time. Will try cotton wool then. Not too difficult with the factory coil. Just pushed through a bit with a pin then twisted it through from the other end using tweezers.
What kind of wire should I buy to try recoiling?

Well, that was remarkably easy! Couldn't find the cotton balls so cut up a make up remover pad. Vaping lovely.
Thanks, will clean with bicarb next time. Just used hot water this time.

Thanks. When you say "cotton balls" do you mean just that? As in balls of cotton wool?

Apologies as I'm sure this will hae been covered on other posts, but I could only find rewicking guides without the cleaning detailed.
With the demise of the V3 I want to start rewicking (baby steps, I'll then move to recoiling once I master that!) so I can stick with the V3.
I've found many guides and tutorials (cotton thread or makeup pads), but can't see how people find is the best way to clean the head and rest of the clearo first.
Also do people swear by boiling the cotton first? Seen some videos where people say you must but others where they haven't.
Many thanks

The most positive thing for me is not only the changes in the articles on te BBC website about vaping in recent months, but more importantly the comments left on them. Nearly all of the comments from the last few articles have been in favour of vaping and shows even non-vapers are beginning to get their heads around it. It used to be that there would be a raft of "ban it all" comments and the minority would be people who explained how vaping works. Those people now commenting that vaping should be banned are starting to come across as the equivilant of EDL members commenting on a story about a nice multi faith event.

Protank 2 - 1.8ohm coils whack it straight on top of an Ego Battery -- Job done Get the whole lot from Fasttech all genuine kit dirt cheap. Since i took the plunge i haven't even looked at my V3 clearo's No leakage, no seepage, coils last around a week but at fasttech prices you don't have to worry just swap em out (even if the tank is 1/2 full), unless you fancy re-wicking of course. Gotta a lotta love for the Protank2. Thanks for the recommendation, do you have a link to the exact one on fasttech?

One of the things I like with the V3 is that when the wick starts burning you can pull it through slightly and it's as good as new again. Means I get a lot longer out of it than with others. Doesn't look like something you can do with the Aspire.

Got an email from Vapeescape today informing me that the Vision V3 Rebuildable is being discontinued.
I've been using it for two years, have tried a few other clearos but not found one I like as much.
I know a lot of people see it as a fairly basic bit of kit, and there's obviously more expensive clearos that many people swear by.
Any recommendations on what alternative I should try? A Rebuildable that I can get spare heads for fairly easily and is compatible with ego batteries.
I'll stock up on the spare heads for the V3 while their in the clearance stock in the meantime.
Thanks in advance

Interested to know if everyone feels the same about all the cheap liquids people buy from Fasttech?

To be honest. £1 for 5ml is not the cheapest I've bought. I have bought many cheaper online when buying in bigger bottles, both through Fasttech or reduced items from UK vendors. This says made in China but so do lots of the liquids I've bought. Until there is full regulation on eliquids I can see no way of being 100% sure of what's in there. For convenience, I'm happy with £1 on the high st.

Poundland are selling 5ml 18mg bottles of Cloud9 cherry or a tobacco flavour eliquid (you can guess what it costs I'm sure). In my local store it was by the tills where they have the smoking paraphernalia. Bought a couple of bottles of cherry and quite happy with it.

Thanks both. I considered blutac but was worried that it might spill out and end up in the thread. Just gave it a go. Yep, that dd the trick! Guess I'll be adding a lump of blutac to my ever growing box of capping essentials.
Thanks

Hi all. Yesterday my new vivi nova tank arrived (had one before that packed in a whole back). I've read lots online about the newer versions, with two holes above the screw thread, not being airy enough but I find the airflow too much. It vapes ok, but being used to Vision Egos I like a tighter draw.
Question is, as people who find the airflow too low drill the holes bigger, will simply sealing one up with superglue do the opposite and reduce the flow?
