I forgot you needed to have money in Paypal to send a gift with no fee.
In theory this could mean 10% of what could go to the fund will instead end up in Paypal's pocket.
I'd suggest to anyone that hasn't got money in their Paypal accounts to deposit some first, wait until it clears then send £2.27 to Jack's fund. Otherwise it'll still cost you £2.27 but the difference will be that the extra 27p will go to Jack instead of Paypal.

That's not right, I just checked and my PP balance is zero. And it's been for a while.

I just tried it with no money in my account. Switch to personal payments, then give the money, no problem.

I think it depends whether you have linked a bank account or are paying via card using it. I have it linked ue cards and always have to pay the fee but if it comes straight from your account I don't think you do. Ought to link it to my account really!

I'm pretty hard off, but wanted to do this, but I'm a bit confused where I'm actually sending this. When I tried to donate using instructions on UKV it said I had to pay a 30p fee. Is this the same for everyone? If you have a cash balance in your PP account gift payments are free. If you don't PP charge a flat fee of £0.20 + 3.4% of the gift if you fund via CC or DC.

Hmm I have no balance in my PP account, but was not charged anything, could it be because I fund via Direct Debit??
