I had this message from Alba Vapours

It has been proved the Item in question has a fault with the Voltage not reading correctly.
meaning 3 volts could be anything up to 3.8volts or even higher.


We dont know how this will affect the overall running of the unit in question and feel it would be safer to have them returned as we are returning them to Smok for either a full refund from them or to have them changed to the Version 2 which has corrected the voltage problem.


so if you could please return your Smok Zmax and start a paypal dispute now to make it easier for me to give out the refunds

Wow, that's really good of Alba Vapours in my opinion. A lot of places wouldn't have done this.

I think experience has taught us to wait for the "next new thing" to have any faults

diagnosed before jumping in with both feet!

I got mine from E Cig Wizard,so i posed the recall question to them,awaiting a reply.

Sam from the Wizards lair got back to me,they have had NO recall notices from SMOK,so unless you have problems all seems to be fine.

Andy this isn't a recall from Smok - this is a recall from Alba it would seem because they are just as unimpressed with the voltage settings being off as quite a few others and i have to say kudos to them for doing so. In my book it speaks volumes

All good stuff i agree,i had mine from ECW and they didnt issue a recall so i thought i would check.To be honest i cant say i have had any issues on my ZMAX,i checked the outputs and they were well within normal limits.Possibly its just a bad batch?ECW did say however that if i was having issues to return it .

The onboard menus,i dont do anything more indepth LOL.TBH i am having NO issues with it at all.Getting great vapes all the time.

Andy that's great mate and a lot of users will have no issues although it feels like its hitting a lot harder than it actually is - some people though if after a very low voltage for things like 306 attys will just taste burnt every time because they simply can't get a voltage low enough

I cant say mine is hitting harder,i do have a sensitive throat so tend to go for a less punchy throat hit.I did have a bit of trouble with Grants Vanilla custard and that DID taste burnt,but i went over to the VW mode and it was fine,found the sweet spot no probs.I must add i am using 2.8 ohm atty heads in my Vivi Nova.

Changing the voltage all the time with rebuildables can be a PITA and I vape very low watts (around 5 to 6w) so something like this would ruin it for me (which is why I was looking at the v2s anyway as they go to a lower wattage).
Alba is probably the supplier I'd go with though, as I like the way that they've seen it as a potential problem and remedied it.

The only thing now is if I can convince the wife to get me one for xmas.
