I have a pair of Mirage minis and a pair of DSE901's from Simon. I really see the potential of not burning tobacco but I'm a little frustrated at not being able to re-fill the carts to replicate the pre-filled ones that come with the kit. I've watched You Tube until I am cross eyed and followed the instructions to the best of my limited ability but the results just aren't as good. Dripping onto the attie works well but I don't want to be messing round with that when I am away from home. I'm desperate to stop burning and if necessary will buy ready filled carts for out of home vaping but the idea of saving some money is really attractive. Plus I actually like vaping more than smoking... I should add that when the carts seem to stop vaping they are still moist and I make sure that the batteries are fully charged. Lynda

Lynda, the only thing I can think of is that your carts aren't wicking properly.
After you have filled a cart, try gently pulling at the stuffing with the end of a paper clip.

I find the taste of some of the prefilled carts is much nicer than the e-liquid counterpart but, other than getting the stuff all over the place, I am now pretty profficient at filling them up again. I generally just press the stuffing down a bit, put a few drips in until it 'pools' then, with a pin, I raise the stuffing gently until the pool disappears. The carts almost always have some juice left in them so never throw them away. igetcha69 (Scott) has a very good tutorial on how to extract the juice from old stuffing - I've done it and although the mixture of flavours is pretty disgusting, it's a good standby in case I should run out at any time. Practice and plenty of tissues are the watchwords I think. Fox

I've never become proficient at refilling carts - I can do it (I squidge with pointy tweezers to make sure the juice is distributed thru the stuffing, tissues at the ready as Foxy says) but it's messy and doesn't last long, so I drip, which is quick and easy with a sqeazy bottle.

Thanks for the imput.. The road to vaping is surely a twisty one.. One of my atties has died, but is going to be replaced, and one of the batteries on the other e cig is behaving oddly..have yet to see how that progresses. It would hepl if I didn't have to use a magnifying glass to read the instructions.. However....I think I might have made a bit of a breakthrough with filling the carts! (there is always the possibility that I am unwittingly poisoning myself so feel free to tell me if that is the case.) I cut off a 'filling' sized piece of cheap kitchen scouring pad and poked it in the cart in place of the woolly stuff. It really seems to be working a treat and would be cheaper than chips even... So far, so good... Lynda

That sounds interesting Lynda, i'll wait to see wot the old hands think of it first tho...('old' as in experience, i should add before i get an eslap) I've also had a bit of trouble with the filling constantly coming out and sticking to the attie, altho since i used the D shaped blank cart i got with my passthrough it's been much better

Lynda, I'm really not sure about how safe the kitchen scourer material is. The filler does get quite warm so it may end up melting a bit/giving off toxins?
I've (& many other vapers) have used Fluval fish tank filter to restuff our carts with. Others use the material from Liptons pyramid tea bags.

I seem to be drip-drip-dripping every 10 minutes, Li :-[ But it's less trouble and less mess than fiddling with the carts with the same frequency. I'm a bad example, I am perpetually stressed out and slightly off my rocker. scylla

*EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK* Kitchen scourer? ? I don't think so!!!!!!!!!!! Does that look alarmist enough? The thing is, I think they're made of plasticky stuff that degrades on being heated, even could burn. LOL Scylla, you put that a lot clearer than I did Hope Lynda comes back soon & sees that the kitchen scourer isn't a good idea.

Smashin' I take a pair of pointy tweezers and cut a bit the right length and width (see YouTube for size guidance), and wind it around the tweezers whilst gripping one end within - it's very quick and easy that way. I have a tendency to make it too tight a wad and only realising after I've stuffed the cart and dripped, so then get in a mess unwinding it to cut a bit off... It's all good fun Wow! Look what I found!!! Heart-throb himself doing a demo with a 901 cart He's using black Fluval. CHRISSIE - Which are the correct rollie filters? I forgot all about them. scylla
