Cartomisers.

Hi all,
Have been using my Riva kit quite successfully! Most of the time i have used the clearomiser but decided to try a new flavour in the cartomiser. I filled it as per the video instructions and topped it up from the top. It only lasted a short time whereas the clearomiser i only fill once a day. I topped it up several times and still not getting much from it and im also sucking the juice out when i inhale
How long should clearomisers and cartomisers last before throwing away?

I find a cartomiser is usually good for around 10-15mls of e-juice!

They do need topped up often. If you're sucking the juice out it sounds like you've got some in the centre hole. After filling/topping up, hold a tissue over the threaded end and blow through it to get rid of any excess juice

I don't know about cartomisers as I don't use them, but I have just had to change the head of a clearomiser that came with my Vision kit last July.
That is the first time I have tasted the burnt wick sensation. So almost 4 months of pretty heavy use.
I'm pleased with that!

how much juice are you getting in the clearo carto from empty?
and does it give greater performance? is it lower resistance?

Maggie, if you are sucking the juice out when you inhale, it could be due to the following -

You have overfilled it - try blowing from the mouth piece end into a tissue.
Your battery needs recharging as it's not heating up the carto enough.
Your carto is dying or not broken in yet.

I've had a weird thing last 2 packets of cartos - the liquid just "sits" on the top of the filler and goes nowhere for what seems like 2 minutes. I've taken to gently moving the filler away from the wall of the cart with a tiny screwdriver, to make space to seep down.

In reply to the O.P. I'd be happy with 1 main fill and then up to 10 top ups from a cart. For me, that's probably about it.

My personal opinion is that certain cartos can be topped up far more than others. I've never killed a 808D-1 cartomiser, even run dry. I'm getting through Boges and Kangers too quick a.t.m.

I don't really use cartos outside a tank,but am starting to use them on my old egos now,I had a boge still going well for 5 weeks and only changed it because I thought it was probably past its best,the kanger I replaced it with was no better and despite what people say,I thought the Boge was better,so a pound a pack cheaper for me then and yep its the Kangers getting used up on the egos,while the Boges are for my tanks

Thanks all! I blew a lot of excess liquid out and attached it to a newly charged battery.
It worked great for 5 minutes then nothing... Think it's died on me.

Make sure the connectors on the carto and battery are clean. I'm guessing their not if you've overfilled A cotton bud dipped in some vodka will clean any gunk off. I buy alcohol swabs for this from ebay.

If that doesn't sort it you could try very gently easing the connector on the battery up a tiny smidgen with a cocktail stick!

If, after trying what karma has suggested, it still doesnt work try another carto.

How much juice have you put through it?
