Arrived safely this afternoon, cheers Des. Works OK, but my battery+ post inside is offset so I can't use button tops, if I try one it just switches off. Put a bigger spring in as most of my batts are LT size and it vapes very well. Did you get that sorted Roger? My centre post is dead centre.

Having looked more closely, it appears that the brown insulation ring is not centered, thus making the pin appear off centre. However I think I've got a bit of a duff un. It works beautifully in 18650 mode, but in short mode, forget it, you get maybe 2 tokes, then it switches off. I checked the battery state and it read 3.9, as I watched it went down to 3.2 and the display faded. Checked the batt on a mm 3.9, strange.

I have the same as you Roger the insulating ring is off centre. With regards to the short/18350 mode I'm guessing you've tried a few different batteries? If it works OK in 18650/long mode then there should be no difference, both batteries give out the same voltage...it does sound like a connection issue. Check everything is screwed tightly together, gently stretch the spring in the bottom cap and try a new battery would be my suggestions.

My insulator was the same, sounds like a short, although why it only affects short mode is strange. The electronics shouldnt be able to tell the difference between a short and long battery

Explains why button tops are okay. I`d be tempted to remove it and put something a bit thinner there.

It's the 18350's supplied. They won't work in the Vamo and in fact won't charge on any of my chargers, the light just cycles through red/green instead of steady red. After 3 hours they still show 3.8. I shall try to get some others and try them. The Torchy's have gone in the bin and I've got some Panny's on their way. My LT batts are Sanyo and they work perfectly, just shows that good batts are worth that bit extra.

I had a fairly new battery that wouldnt charge after my son borrowed it, had it in his pocket with coins etc. Tried it again the next day and it charged, dont know why, maybe settled down somehow. Really surprised about the torchys.

Mine is working really nicely in long mode with the Sanyo's in. Ive' put an AGA-T on it, looks great, vaping like a train, tell you what though, if you smacked someone with that combo, they would stay smacked!!! I've tried charging those 18350's again, still no joy, so I'm pretty sure it is those causing the problems in short mode, don't have any others (yet), but when I do I'll let you know what happens

Roger what charger are you using to try and charge the 18350's ? Sent from my HTC DHD My Xtar WPII (I did try the supplied charger and an old Xtar MP2) The 2 Xtars work very well and charge everything else perfectly. It's also the fact that the Vamo turns itself off with one of these batts in that makes me suspect them.

Yes the 350 mah, i got one, but on zainy.net they were 3 for 18$ a bragain , i really like them with the kanger t-3 on iff im going down the pub, they last long enough and are small enough to put in my little cash pocket on my jeans without the atty top sticking out, which i have snapped off b4 with bigger batteries, so i like for this reason. They are mini ego batteries, did you order a Vamo kit as well? Yes i ordered the vamo kit too,
