Listening to it now . . . . that Linda Rosenthal talks a load of tosh . . . how many of us here would still be smoking if it weren't for ecigs . . . personally I never wanted to give up, so NRT products were never a consideration . . . rather I wanted to find a safer, less costly option.
Shame they didn't have a vaper on the programme.

I am beside myself with rage and astonishment Why go to a Californian supplier? Why waste time and effort trying to trip up a US supplier? Why go to a US politician? What about the quality control efforts of UK suppliers like TW and others? What about the fact the e-cigs are more successful... oh of course, we mustn't mention the war Just initial reactions. I should listen again but can't bear to. Thank you for the heads-up, Wotsit! scylla

Im glad Im not the only one who thought it was rubbish. The idea that we dont know whats in the juice is crazy. Honestly it takes two clicks on any suppliers page to dig up that info. And I know the arguement "well its not as bad as....." isnt really valid (Im a mum to a teenager!) in this case I really think it holds some weight. I thought I was detecting a hint of "its got flavours to attract the children" in the arguement from the USA woman. Grrr Alcho-pops hello. Kids CANT do what adults do (again mum of a teenager here), kids get over it. The really big grrr point for meis the fact this anti e-cig thing is lead by big Pharm and Big tabacco. They want a share. I hate the way you can buy US politicans but hate the way that that also has an effect on me.

I would have thought our UK suppliers would have a thing or two to contribute to that!! >

Does Katherine Devlin know about this rubbish ? I thought the BBC was supposed to be(whats the word???) impartial?? Who is the presenter?

Agrees with Scylla, especially about why did they interview a Californian supplier instead of a UK one? It is such a shame that Katherine Devlin wasn't interviewed

Sent my Email:-
Hi,
I wondered why you had people on from the USA when there are plenty of outstanding UK companies that provide smokers with Electronic cigarettes as an alternative(i-Vapour.co.uk,Intellicig), and also no-one from the UK ECITA who along with Trading Standards regulate E-Cigs in the UK ?
The BBC is supposed to be impartial in its presentations and i found this to be un-informative as to the UK's present regulations and more about allowing Ms Rosenthal being allowed to spout more lies. The FDA has in the US courts been told 3 times that E-Cigs should be regulated as a Tobacco product not a Nicotine Replacement.
If you would like to do a follow-up programme please do some research about the UK situation. Try Intellicig and ECITA (Katherine Devlin).
As someone who has presently used an E-Cig for the past 20 months after trying to quit with MHRA approved alternatives for 24 years and failed, this is the only alternative for me.This is about allowing me to spend a bit of extra quality time with my children.Every ingredient in Ecigs is already in tobacco, everyone of them. There's no wool being pulled over anyones eyes,it about having a choice.
My neighbour has full approval from her doctor to use an E-cig after smoking 50 a day, doctors 'get it'.Anything is better than Smoking.
If the dj realises its about 'people' then i have done at least something good....i'm sick of being just a bloody number.

I was disgusted by it also. That *censored* Rosenthal was just parroting the same old arguments (lies) that have been spread by the anti-tobacco (now changed to anti-nicotine) clowns for quite a while now. She stated in another interview that she quit smoking without any aids and if she could do it, so can everyone else. It would appear that she has a personal agenda to rid the world of nicotine use and like many other politicians here, is using her office to impose her personal beliefs and morals on everyone else. On another comment, yes Wotsit, it's very easy to buy an American politician.
