I've done that before too. I honestly thought I'd lost my sight permanently in my left eye. It made my eyeball swell, go rock hard and completely dry out. I looked like Igor in Young Frankenstein. Amusingly (though not at the time), I also cracked my head off the wall whilst staggering away, temporarily blind and in shock.

My tip of the day for AAEC is...don't lie under your car with your face an inch away from the fuel pump as you unscrew it.

That's (sort of) funny, that's more or less how I got mine in the eye as well. I wasn't expecting the pressure to be so high.
I staggered to the house door and found it was locked, so hammered frantically on the door as I slid down it I think I left it under a running tap for half an hour....
