But the 'Packers' are playing so that makes it worth watching!!
I have a soft spot for anything 'Wisconsin' since that was where I had my memorable and unplanned surgery 7 years ago..
Go Packers!!!!
(I won't be watching tho'..)

My team is the Patriots. The Packers are a great team and unlike the other NFL teams, who have private owners, they are owned by the people of Green Bay, Wisconsin. I have to go with the AFC team the Steelers though, since the Patriots are also in the AFC.
There will be too many commercials, so Scylla is right, there will be one hour of American football played, in between 4 hours of commercial advertisements. As far as I'm concerned, that ruins the game, so I probably won't watch too much of it.

Lynda, the Steelers have won more Super Bowls than any other team in the NFL. I can understand you not knowing that, since you British follow that other football game that we call soccer. The top 10 Super Bowl teams: Pittsburgh Steelers 6-1 San Francisco 49ers 5-0 Dallas Cowboys 5-3 Green Bay Packers 3-1 New York Giants 3-1 Oakland/LA Raiders 3-2 Washington Redskins 3-2 New England Patriots 3-3 Baltimore/Indianapolis Colts 2-2 Miami Dolphins 2-3

I just came back here cos I wanted to gloat that we can watch it with NO commercials - when I scoffed about 1 hour's play in a 5-hour programme I was referring to the amount of time they waste with stoppages and chit-chat and adjusting their shoulderpads I hadn't counted the ads in I shall give it a look if I'm awake, mainly because I love listening to "experts" even when I don't know what they're talking about May the best team win! You're feisty, Lynda Bet Saints are glad to have you on their side scylla

Scylla, back in the early 70s I went to several Patriots games, since the stadium is only 20 miles north of me. There were many times during the game when the players would just be standing on the field, not doing anything, just standing there. It finally dawned on me that there were tv commercials going on and the players were waiting for them to end and the cameras to focus on the game again. LOL

Jerry, It is obviously time for the Packers to shine again.
Any state that uses cheese as their emblem has to be a winner. (And they make some very fine cheese in Wisconsin!!)
Not so sure that I like the head-gear tho...

I was going to mention that Lyn. If you are going to support the Packers, you will have to wear some cheese on your head. LOL

Jerry, are you still OK after being subjected to that mangling of your national anthem? Does it get worse every year? I'm torn as to which team to support now, having an All-Abouter on each side ??? Poor ole ref didn't get a cheer It's the same the world over scylla

It's not on that both teams are wearing virtually the same knickers, I can't tell them apart when they're mixing it

Scylla, I'm used to the National Anthem being mangled. There are many of us here, who think that we should have a better anthem than a song about the bombardment of Ft. McHenry. "America the Beautiful" would be better, except that it's sung to the tune of "God Save the Queen". Talk about confusion. LOL
The Green Bay Packers are wearing the green jerseys with the yellow helmets. The Pittsburgh Steelers are in the white jerseys, with the black helmets.

Whoops, my bad, it's "My Country 'tis of Thee", that is sung to the tune of "God Save the Queen", not "America the Beautiful". I knew it didn't sound right when I posted it.
Ugh, Green Bay 21, Pittsburgh 3, second quarter.

I couldn't reconcile the title and the tune either, Jerry Steelers are catching up and the other side's defenders are all injured. Anyone's game. scylla
