Bit confused by this, from what i gather you clean this out by removing the wick end, wash it in warm water and dry with tissue then screw it direct to the battery and dry burn?
Doesn't dry burning burn the coil and the wick completely ruin it?

Doesn't dry burning burn the coil and the wick completely ruin it? The idea is that dry burning removes some gunk from the coil. But the problem is, that it can burn the wick also and everything tastes burnt afterwards. Probably the best thing to do is conduct this flush out at the same time you change the head. Give it a good old flush out. Pull it apart and then change the head for a fresh one and drop some juice on and fill it. Leave it a couple of mins to soak up the juice and then vape it. Simples.. MM

The wick will withstand a fair bit of heat (unlike carto innards) the idea is to just clear the gunk from the coil. You can, if you're worried about burning the wick, dry burn it a little, then wash it in water then dry burn it again. In my experience it's not been required. I clean my wick/heads out every weekend whether it needs it or not.
Editing typos... again :-[

Every time I wash mine and then burn them dry I end up burning the wick so have decided not to burn dry anymore!

IMPORTANT! - take the rubber bung off first! I rinse mine and take the tank off so you are left with the bottom connector and center post with the wick head screwed on, you should be able to see the coil. Press the battery button for 5 seconds, repeat, repeat and repeat till you can see the coil glowing red hot, keep going until you can see all of the coil glowing red. You can help it along by using a toothpick to scrape away some of the gunk. Once the coil burns red hot all the way along give it a rinse again then re-asemble. As you do a dry burn you'll notice the smoke that comes off the coil changes, at one point the smoke will smell burnt, this is the carbon that is the gunk burning and turning to ash you need to go through this point until no smell comes off the coil, stop here and you'll get that burnt taste. You are turning the carbon into softer ash that is easier to remove. Once you get no smell and your coil burns a nice red, wash again then re-assemble and you should be good to go with no burnt taste. Do not hold your finger on the button for more than 5 seconds as you run the risk of "popping" the coil. This method carries a risk, you should be prepared for the occasional coil failure, you have been warned! If done properly you should end up with a coil that vapes as good as new.

Do you wash the coil itself after burning. I've been going out of my way to try and keep it dry.

I noticed a serious drop in performance today on both my mini vivi and T3. Concerned they had caught the dreaded V3 burning bug (that is seriously annoying me a.t.m.) I've just taken the T3 base apart enough to try a dry burn. Although I couldn't save the two strands that sit above the main coil/wick, the coil itself came up superbly with 4 or 5 blasts. I then cut a section of wick from a ruined V3 placed them on top and re-assembled. Perfect. Tomorrow, I'm going to do the mini vivi nova......fingers crossed for another result. - - - - I didn't really understand the whole principle until I could get up close and see things in action. As long as the wick can resist the heat, the gunk just smokes its way off the coil leaving everything clean and tasty. Even if I can only do it a few times, it's better than a £2.50 replacement every 6 mls. Well pleased.
