Now insert the bottom contact to trap the wire in the bung. Note I have turned the atomiser over so now 3'o'clock is 9'o'clock. Note how you can see the curled ends of the wire just sticking out. You need to check the coil is all nicely positioned and I find a sharp new cocktail stick useful for this. If the coil is positioned correctly and you have long wire tails then snip them off short to avoid any shorts when screwed in mount. make sure the coil is centred and neither end ( especially the end connected to center contact) is near the atomiser body. Admire your rewicked old coil. This one is not as neat as it could be but will work fine. What do I mean "will", it does work fine and am vaping it now with clouds of vaper. I shall leave you to assemble the rest of the Vivi Nova and enjoy the fruits of your labour. THE END. FINIS. You may now respond...in kind please. Sorry I have not taken a few pics I should have done, but hopefully it might give someone the confidence to try this with an atomiser which is past washing to get working properly as the wick is clogged with ash from dry burning. 2nd FINIS. The Vivi Nova I have used was supplied by Vapers World origininally with short wicks. So this is its second rewicking. I actually only rewicked this time for demonstation purposes..I could have just dry burned it again, or left to soak overnight in vodka.

Great 'walk thru'..... Funny enough, I did the very same thing yesterday & it was my first 're-wicking' attempt, although I also re-wired it too........I was so chuffed, I then proceeded to re-do my other vivi nova, mini-vivi & a couple of vision re-buildables, just to see if I could..........all working well...........Next attempt will be the kanger T2 ( if it's possible )..........

Agree, about 10 minutes. Really easy. I was just trying to show any newbies how easy it is. It was propmted by someone mentioning on another thread they kept getting shorts when rewinding coils and I wanted to show in detail. I should have made a comment saying ....... make sure coil ends and centre tail are clear of the atomiser body as really important. I shall go back and edit.

This is a picture of a 1.8 ohm coil where I have rewicked and splayed out the strands of the wick in an attempt to increase liquid flow to the coil. The burning you see on tails is me heating the wick in a lighter flame so the silica fibres take up a new form and do not unravel. This was extremely fiddly to seperate the strands into 3 twisted tails. All I need to do is test it now and no idea if it will be improved or not. Maybe I should just add more vodka to my 70AG/30PG mix instead to thin it. I use 15% vodka (37.5% proof) in my AG (15/85). Attachments:

Thanks for going to the trouble to post this Brambles, I'm about to order some wick & wire to have a go for the first time myself so this is going to be very useful.

Thanks for this post Brambles, but could you tell us how you clean (burn) the old coil to get it so clean? What do you use?
