0.2 is the general consensus Chris, Thicker wire is lower resistance. Im guessing yours is around 3 ohms at 5 coils of 0.16, the same at .2 wire is 2.2 ohms (dependant on the thickness of your wick. I cant say how low is too low for a twist but I would say ideally you want 2 - 2.5 ohms.

Thanks skwoddy....Actually, I meant to put 0.16, although to be honest, I'm not sure what it is, as I was given it, but it's very thin. Should it be nickel chrome wire, as I'm looking at some at the moment?

Kanthal is preferred by some because there is no nickel to be ingested, your gonna need Kanthal with a 'D' Rating, Vaping temperatures arent that hot on the scale of things. Here ya go 10 metres of Kanthal D delivered for €3.99 buymywire.com/

Is that a VH Gennie / DID? If so I prefer a 0.16 Kanthal. Macca walked me through setting my one up for a SR type resistance. If it helps you can butcher this spreadsheet to help you (just put your variables in the yellow boxes). Attachments:

The number indicates how many squares there are for every inch..300 mesh has 300 "holes" per inch and so on..
Alba Vapours do a good price on 400 mesh..
Wires.co.uk and the themeshcompany.com are other sources..

Q~ What is the difference between 400 and 325 grade wicks? A~ Thin juices wick better on a 400 grade wick and thicker juices wick well on 325. It is recommended that any juice above 30% vg be used with the 325 mesh. 500 mesh has for most now superseded 400, The numbers are the "wires per inch" and more equals better, for pg at least. many wraps on a mesh wick gives you more and more wires for the juice to "climb", or wick without tilting the device. Here is a good source www.themeshcompany.com/

Looking at that I'd guess that's a direct copy of a mini DID / VH Genesis in which case that spreadsheet should help you out.

Glad to see that you are sorted Chris, have you tried to do the Kanger T2 yet?

I've had a mess around with wire the last couple of days and having taken on board what people have said about more coils holding more liquid, I twisted .20 Kanthal together and have seven wraps of it with 1.8 ohms, and because the wire is a lower resistance I think there's less chance of the wire between the centre post and wick glowing.
Is there anything fundamental that I've not taken into account here?
Just as an aside and a bit off topic, I've also used a bit of advice I read on another forum and rolled 4cm of the 325 mesh we got inside 4cm of 500 mesh.
Apparently the 325 works as the reservoir, holding more juice in its bigger holes, while the 500's capillary action ensures the juice gets to the top of the wick.
Like a pig in a blanket.
It seems to be working dandily.
