hi guys i got myself a mini DID clone and im getting really frustrated with coiling it , i have tried 7 coils now and i cant get anything off it, it seems like there is no power getting to the coil, now i know there is nothing wrong with the clone and i know it is 100% something i am doing wrong but i just dont get it , i am using about 3-4 turns for the coil and the coils look evenly spaced and tidy but when i put it on my battery i get nothing please help me before i pull all my hair out thanks Dave

Have you pushed the centre post up too far, as I did once? It's meant to be around level with the threads, not poking out, not stuck up.

Loosen the bottom most nut on the center pole and push the center pole down a touch till it just peeks out of the threads and then tighten the nut back down. Then try and see what happens.
If it does not work post a picture or two of the bottom of the genny...

With mine I was sent a crappy silicon 0-ring in place of a washer (is that what it's called?) and the nuts would push all the way down to the tank and the crappy silicon o-ring would wrap around the nut....then the centre post would be too far up..ended up replacing said silicon ring with the rubber washer thingy out of a vision/vivi head. Lovely.

i did try to adjust the centre post slightly but it doesnt make any difference, i will take some pics a bit later of the bottom and of the coil and wick so you can see if i have done something wrong, i know that its not a problem with the clone as i bought it off a very reputable member who has been using it recently cheers

What are you putting it on..Have you tried different batteries?
Can you also tell me if you have put the silicone top hat insulating grommet at the bottom where the center post enters the tank? Also check the top silicone insulating grommet where the center pole exits the tank that booblay posted about is not distorted.

That will be the wick. Could be the mesh isn't fine enough, you didn't use enough mesh or it isn't oxidised or charred well enough. Try watching it with the top cap off while it fires, you might get some clues.

I have used one of these exclusivly for the last three weeks and I love it, so persevere cos its worth it. Different things seem to work for different people, so experiment and get into that detached zen mindframe and all will be cool. Im by no means an expert but here is what has worked for me. I use the petar k method to make the coil and then check the resistance, this tells me what I should be aiming for when the wick is in place.
I use a double wick, one inside the other. The first I roll around a paperclip and is 12mm wide, the second I roll round a toothpick and is 15mm wide[.

I cut the ends of both to an angle to stop them getting blocked on the bottom. Attachments:
