A slower charge is better for the battery than a fast charge, makes it last longer, as in more charges, so they say. Ellen, bad gurl

So what are folk setting the sp2 to. Mine arrived today and I set mine to 1amp?

It depends what you're charging Jay. Smaller capacity bats are best charged at the lower setting, larger capacity ones weill be ok at the higher setting, but unless you're desperate it seems that most batteries will appreciate a 0.5 charge

I let my SP2 default to 0.5, some batteries' max low charge value is less than 1amp, so unless you're in a rush a slow charge is better in the long term.

some batteries can handle the higher amp charging fine but if you're not in a hurry i would always stick to the 0.5 amp setting. batteries prefer to be slow cooked
