My wife works at a care home which specialises in people with dimensia (poor spelling I know) and parkinsons.
She has told me most of it is related to problems caused by smoking.

I'm amazed that the cigarette industry is still allowed to legally sell products which kill and maim their users. Imagine if the same death and injury rates happened with B&Q paint or Sainsburys washing up liquid or whatever. There would be global horror and condemnation.

great point oneday and as said many times before there is too much money at stake for pharma and the government to ban cigs !!! It's about time we as the people start making these departments held accountable for their actions against us ! We are many they are few simple !!!

Smoking makes smokers more like non-smokers

For the last 10 years i smoked [free for 5 weeks lol] 10 or less a day. Previous to that i probably smoked 20 per day. Whereas i agree that smoking is a killer and is anti social ,each to there own. Lets not forget the other killer addictions, alcohol, prescription drugs,recreational drugs, food and obesity, even sex and there are others. It seems to me its always the smoker who is singled out. If you are a good hard working and decent person and the worst thing you do in life is smoke and are prepared to risk it, so be it. By the way i have seen what smoking can do to people , i have a friend who will probably be lucky to make it to xmas,he has lung cancer and my ex workmate had to leave with emphysema.
