That is ridiculously good looking, I like it, I like it a lot. provari contender Alvo ??? Don't think so queenie, think I'm set now, I really just want to see what all the fuss is about, because most of the ecigs/mods I have tried have been brilliant, yet the provari is supposed to be so much better.... I have to try it I think it is much better looking than the provari, and if they work, it has better features, so it's going to have to be my 1 year off the nasties treat I think, unless something else comes along before then... in short, I'VE GOT TO have both :/ lol

Whilst it is an attractive item I think the whole 'attach to your computer' thing is both a gimmick and somewhat ridiculous. It's just selling you something you don't need to justify stupid high prices. It wouldn't surprise me if all the work has gone into the pointless computer software and it vapes like an eGo twist with some shiny buttons. Thanks, but no thanks. Keep it simple and concentrate on making products that work and don't leak or breakdown etc. It's much cheaper than some mods out there, mods which have the same features, only less of them, and some mods which have nothing but a few bits of polished and tooled tubing. If this works how it is supposed to work, it will be an absolute bargain at that price IMO, and I'm supposed to be the tight one!

They do seem obsessed with the 'puff counter' don't they. I am tending to agree with Alvoram on this one, IF it works. But I think this will be a wait and see job.

But I'm from Yorkshire so what do you expect lol TBH, If it gives you a last vape which is as good as the 1st and does everything it says on the tin without fail then I don't see why this wouldn't be better than the Provari. IMO, The Provari is a little old hat these days and they need to bring a newer version out to keep up with all the newer tube mods. They might be good but I wouldn't fork out for one. It's just a name to me.

I like the look of this, apparently there is a stainless steel , flat top version on the horizon, and I like the idea of upgradeable firmware. That allows for better power management software if there are any bugs like that from the original V1 Zmax. no product recalls, no Version 2 with upgraded RMS/AVG firmware , just plug it in and update. The other good thing is it's modular, so you should be able to get different length tubes to accomodate smaller 18*** battery types. Think this might be a winner for Joyetech. ETA. the Stainless version is infact a mod for the joyetech product, stainless tube and endcaps : www.highendsmoke.de/de-de/e-zigaretten/akkutraeger/joyetech/0202010000005/joyetech-evic-edelstahl-umbausatz.html

Did anyone else try and install the "My Vapour Record" software to have a nosey... doesn't seem to work with windows 7, either that or the device has to be plugged in to load the software :/

Did anyone else try and install the "My Vapour Record" software to have a nosey... doesn't seem to work with windows 7, either that or the device has to be plugged in to load the software :/ I did download a file but it was the firmware upgrade only in .bin format, couldn't figure out where the actual software was but had a look at this video (in German) that shows the eVic being tested and it looks that the top part thats cone-shaped/rounded can be unscrewed and then replaced for a flat top-type cover. video: Also he shows the software in the video and when linked to the eVic it'll show stats such as the current voltage and current battery mah, seems the current voltage here refers to the setting itll vape at rather than the battery's power, tho I could be wrong. Also unsure whether the current battery mah is the batteries capability or current capavity. I wonder if you stop vaping when the evic shows the battery at 0 what the voltage would be though might end up having to stop using at 30% or something if 0 battery means it has drained to 3.2 or somthing low.

I was looking at the prices and I think the vendors might sell it a bit less than their rrp as their other products usually have like a 20% higher rrp ish than they usually sell for. Also noticed that they show pricing in usd/eur/gbp and the starter kit is listed there at 98.08 gbp and 139 usd, however at current exchange rates 139 usd is about 87gbp so a good 10% lower if bought in usd. Also the difference between the start kit and buying the control head and battery tube is about 17gbp , for their usd quote its 24usd (15gbp) so ultimately if buying in usd the max price should be around 72gbp, might be 50-60gbp though when its out Might end up going for that option as the difference is just a usb cable+wall plug + 1 battery

The software I downloaded was a .exe, installed a new program, and created links to it on my desktop and start menu, but it doesn't load up. I think you possibly downloaded the firmware for the product itself rather than the My Vapour Record software.
If you look at the stainless mod linked above, it shows that somebody is already making and supplying flat tops.

ah thats odd then, should really work with win 7, i doubt loads have moved to 8 already and i'd assume anything working on windows 8 works on 7 too. Main thing I hope the software can choose to not charge the device when connected as I'd rather have the battery charge when its flat each time and using a decent charger in a lipo safe bag.
Yea thats decent theyre already doin the flat tops, it looks nice when its on its own with the rounded top tho, and with smaller tanks but may have to get one if theyre cheap for those big tanks
