What's the best direct dripping atty on the market for a fiver or under and where can I get it? There are so many on the market and I can't afford buying loads to 'try' them out.

Bugger, meant to say, I need a 510 connection. 306? is that a different type of battery connection?

Or you could buy for slightly more . . . one of the inexpensive rebuildable drippers from the likes of Healthyevape or Vaping Things MP . . . perfect for dripping, not difficult to re-wick. Just wick and wire needed for future coils.
