That looks like a knock off Joyetech eVic. I wonder what the price is going to be and what it actually does ???

OK...so this the deal
It's a battery. f.g.s.
I wonder if "paying" to extend it's functionality "back" to what I bought is going to happen?
Sounds like a 21st century load of cow poo.
I'm out, already.

eu.jantyworld.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=yagendoo_VaMazing_2.tpl&product_id=4293&category_id=251&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=351&lang=enhmm ... a sad day. Vaping descends into the Apple iTunes world of tying hardware into software sales (pay extra for a colour display? ... realtime vv/vw functionality you have to pay extra for). Hope this doesn't go anywhere to be honest ... I would be more concerned that the batteries are 16430's ... not for me ... a scam-device to catch people rather than those who are looking for a satisfactory experience and to give up fags. The whole vaping experience is a challenge enough without trying to sell people a community service. In my mind this is a clear step over into sales exploitation rather than a device that helps people ... that's why we are all here after all. I suppose it is too much to ask businesses to show some ethics

Vaping descends into the Apple iTunes world of tying hardware into software sales (pay extra for a colour display? ... realtime vv/vw functionality you have to pay extra for). Hope this doesn't go anywhere to be honest i had a go on the prototype at Vapefest and it does have some nice functions that i think will be quite popular. but i must agree that the idea of having to initially pay for the device and then pay further fees to keep using its functions is very disappointing.....its like buying a Lavatube and then after using it for 2 days having to pay extra for it to retain its variable voltage options!

Not sure what to think, I don't think its a case of "you have to keep on paying to retain functionality" I think it's case of, you buy a basic VV ecig, that you can chose to build on with extra modules by making a one time payment for each particular module. They are offering a free trial of all the modules when you first purchase so that you can see which ones you'd like to retain, which isn't so bad, I'd rather they do this than give us the device in basic mode, and let us pay before deciding if we like a particular module or not.
However, do I like this idea? Not really, is it for me? No chance. It's not as bad as some people seem to think, but I'd much rather they just sold us everything that the device is capable of in one simple package...
Modular... Meh.

Well, if this community is full of nerds. Like it or lump it, we are the geeks that gave up on smoking for a intelligent option.
I give it a full week before the system is cracked and the software posted up as a torrent. Maybe a month until someone has written a more user friendly version of the software that has greater functionality. And by the spring, the chip set will be in other devices.
That is if the experience is worth the effort. I'm quite happy with a mechanical pipe mod.

Mik from Janty is a member of AAE-C, would be good if he popped back in to the forum to discuss this further.
