The Vamo operates in two modes - hold down the negative button for 10 seconds and make sure it says NO 2 on the screen. If it says NO 1, wait until the screen blanks and hold the button down for another 10 seconds, it should now have changed to NO 2. These relate to the way it measures the voltage, in NO 1 it is, in effect, pushing out a much higher voltage (and hence wattage) than the one you set. Normally the default setting is NO 2, but sometimes they arrive in the other mode.
