I'm getting ready for my first attempt at mixing. A walking disaster at cooking or anything DIY, I'm very nervous about this. This weekend is my deadline to start because I can't come up with any more excuses to put it off. Recipes posted online always seem to include some flavour or brand of flavouring that I don't have and the thought of having to improvise makes my heart sink and my brain shut down.
Can anyone, please, suggest a simple, sweet tobacco recipe from this list of ingredients:
Tobacco Flavours:
Flavour Arts: Burley Dark Vapure Perique Black Maxx Blend Cam Ultimate
Other Flavours:
Flavour Arts: Honey Dulce de Leche Vape Wizard
Capella: French Vanilla Hazelnut Strawberries & Cream Toasted Almond Caramel Banana Coconut Double Chocolate Cool Mint Vanilla Custard Cappuccino Dutch Chocolate Maple Syrup Pancake Golden Pineapple
I'm aiming for about 80/20 pg/vg with 18mg nicotine.

I don't do baccy flavours Addict, so can be of no help to you . . . isn't there a recipe on the collection thread that you could tweak, Dave ( Darch ) & Frog have posted several.

It's the tweaking part that worries me. I can find receipes using FA tobacco but they include other flavours from Flavour Arts or places like Loranns that I don't have. I'm sure I read that different brands have different strengths and flavours. Would it be ok to make one of those receipes and do a straightforward substitute of my capella flavours for the brands I don't have. Maybe I should just postpone mixing until I buy the other flavours?

Addict honey, the world aint gonna end if you make a juice you don't like. It's an art more than a science, and honestly you can tweak all the recipes we have with the flavourings you have. If it comes out too strong, just make a bit of base in your preferred strength (ie no flavouring) and mix together. If it comes out too weak, add more flavour. If you're not keen on the taste, bung some menthol in it, leave until you have a cold and vape it away!
I can't help much with tobacco flavours cos I don't vape them, but your chocolate will go with practically everything else you have, and most of your flavours will work just fine on their own. Mix up small amounts (2-5ml), take notes so you don't forget what went into your favourites, have fun.
ETA - don't forget to steep!

They do, but you absolutely don't have to follow a recipe to the letter Addict, you're making work for yourself . . . substitute with what you have, that's the fun of mixing, creating something unique. Just make small 5ml or 10ml bottles to begin with until you get a feel for your flavours . . . .

Addict have a look at Frogsters Vanilla Caramel Tobacco, you could use the Burley instead of the M type tobacco and possibly French Vanilla instead of Bavarian Cream it may not taste the same as the recipe but should taste quite good. Dave

And you need this calculator: ejuice.breaktru.com/ so you can work out how much base etc. to use to get your preferred strength and PG/VG ratio

Thank you Perpetua. Thank you Dave. Thank you Dizzi. A zillion thanks to all three of you. Your replies have restored my confidence. I'm going to start with the Froster's Vanilla Caramel and hope for the best.

You'll be fine Addict and if you're not, then there's generally someone about you can advise, just take your time and don't try and do anything too complex at first. That Capella Strawberries & Cream will make a lovely flavour juice just by itself.

Just finished making my first mix. Not so difficult after all, apart from getting a pipette stuck inside the bottle of pg. I think it will be easier when I graduate to mixing larger amounts.
Dizzi: I went to the breaktru website and downloaded the version of the calculator that allows for 5 flavourings. It's really handy.

Yay, well done Addict! What did you mix? Was it Froggie's recipe? I'm hoping to get some bits in the post to you soon, was going to be today but the weather here is so awful I can't get to the post office - either tomorrow or Monday will be the day

Yes, I used Frogsters recipe as a guide but with a variation in the flavourings and pg/vg proportions. My measurements weren't very precise.....hard enough fiddling with syringes and little bottles without trying to spot tenths of mililitres. It smells sickly sweet, but I don't care if I never get to vape it. This attempt was about familiarising myself with the procedure. I'm mixing for myself only so it doesn't matter if the end result is a percentage or two out in balance between vg, pg and mg.
With that in mind, I have two more questions, if you're still reading and have the patience to answer:
1. Would it be ok to just mix about 20 mg of nic, pg, and vg to whatever strength, separate that into smaller bottles and add the flavours later? I think I would manage better if I could just add drops of flavour to a batch of base liquid. I realise that the flavours will alter the pg/vg balance but is that such a big deal?
2. I have an empty glass bottle and plan to use it for my own mix. The bottle cleaned up fine but the cap still smells of the old juice. How do you clean the bottle caps?
Dizzi: Nearly forgot to say there's absolutely no need to send me anything. I'm swamped in bottles here, wondering what made me order so many. The only thing I seem to be missing is stevia which is on the way from Argentina and I can live without it while I wait. I have enough pre-mix to see me through Christmas especially now that I can mix it myself. You probably feel the need to give me something in return, but your advice is more than enough for me....it's priceless.
