Hi is it me or is there a different feeling you get from having a Grandchild to your own Kids? It may sound selfish of me but Ifeel alot more closer to m grandaughter than my kids, apart from her just deciding to paint the upstairs bathroom a bright red colour with nail varnish bless her LOL

Yes Tony,it is very strange, think its because we have more time for them than we did with our kids, and of course we are a bit wiser.Hence why i havent got a life sharing my time between the 7 of them, lol.

Me too, no children, but I have three nieces, who I am close to. In fact the youngest one lives only a few miles from me and we go to dinner on occasion. Our next "date" is this coming Monday.

Aww im jealous , id love to be a grandad , ive got the hair for it as well ! Think ive got a long wait though , as my daughter is only 11 & 3/4 !! I must admit i really miss having a child , but thats me being soppy ! Ive often heard that grandparents enjoy there grandchildren more than there own kids , but i wonder if its the age of them really , i mean will they enjoy them when there stroppy teens ?

(((MRL)))) you sound like such a lovely dad I think stroppy teens tend to turn to grandparents/aunties/uncles more than they do to their parents. I think it's kinda like they need a second opinion on life

I know nothing about children or grandchildren except that I was a horrible one of both (((MrL))), your daughter won't be a child much longer - when she's 18 you'll be wondering where the time went scylla

I closed the door > Now if it was puppy they had brougth in I would of leaped over the desks to get to it When I was pregnant with my boy if folks asked what I wanted (meaning a girl or a boy) I would reply a puppy and meant it too... disclaimer I am very glad he wasnt a puppy. Love my boy just not intrested in other peoples hatchling

I can so relate to your post #11 Wot I do love to see/hear about dads/grandads/uncles loving & caring about little humans. My dad wasn't very good on that score so sort of grew up thinking that was the norm.
